DAY 1 – ARRIVE NORFOLK ISLAND (D)
Our Norfolk Island adventure begins as our flight arrives on the island. Meet our local tour operator and transfer by coach to Paradise Hotel & Resort, where we check into our garden-view rooms for our 7-night stay. Our hotel has been specially selected for its convenient location, within easy walking distance of Burnt Pine’s shops and cafés. This evening, we watch the sunset from one of Norfolk’s majestic western clifftops while enjoying a delightful Island Fish Fry, featuring local dishes and island entertainment. 7 Night Stay: Paradise Hotel & Resort, Norfolk Island
DAY 2 – ISLAND ORIENTATION & CONVICT HISTORY (B,L,D)
This morning, we enjoy an Island Orientation, gaining a fascinating insight into modern island life before joining a local historian for an immersive journey through the World Heritage-listed Convict Kingston area. This immersive tour spans four settlements, tracing the island’s history from the Polynesians to the convict settlements and the legacy of the Bounty mutineers, exploring the cemetery and delving into the rich history of the Kingston convict settlements. Tonight we dress in convict attire (provided) for a ‘Night as a Convict’. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of feasting, singing, dancing and laughter!
DAY 3 – BUSHWALK & PITCAIRN SETTLERS VILLAGE (B,L,D)
This morning we embark on a leisurely 3.5 km breakfast bushwalk tour. Traverse scenic Mount Bates to Captain Cook Monument, concluding at the spectacular clifftop with a delicious breakfast barbecue. After lunch, we step back in time at the Pitcairn Settlers Village, where we visit the original Bailey homestead and wander through the museum, featuring the oldest working forge in the Pacific. *Bushwalk is a Level 3 physical rating and is optional.
DAY 4 – SUNDAY MARKETS & EMILY BAY (B,L,D)
This morning we experience Norfolk Island like a local and explore the Sunday markets with an array of local produce and captivating arts and crafts before visiting the beautiful Emily Bay. This afternoon enjoy the quirky Bounty Folk Museum, housed within one of Norfolk Island’s oldest shops established in 1916.
DAY 5 – NATURALLY NORFOLK & FREE AFTERNOON (B,L,D)
This morning we enjoy the Naturally Norfolk tour, exploring the natural wonders of this beautiful island. Our guide introduces us to Norfolk’s native, endemic and introduced species of trees, plants, flowers and fruits, including the iconic Norfolk Island Pine. After lunch at Hilli Restaurant, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure.
DAY 6 – COLLEEN MCCULLOUGH & PROGRESSIVE DINNER (B,L,D)
Today we begin by visiting the magnificent home of author Colleen McCullough. After lunch we take advantage of the courtesy bus to visit the local shops. We end the day with a delightful progressive dinner, sampling local produce at charming venues hosted by local residents.
DAY 7 – PADDOCK TO PLATE & GLASS-BOTTOM BOAT (B,L,D)
On our Paddock to Plate tour, we’ll visit a market garden supplying vegetables to the Island, a beef farm to understand Norfolk Island’s unique farming practices, and a free-range chicken farm to discover how they supply fresh eggs. A local home is host to a delicious two-course lunch featuring local ingredients. Later this afternoon, we explore Norfolk’s mesmerising underwater world aboard a glass-bottom boat, enjoying views of vibrant marine life and colourful coral reefs (subject to tides and weather conditions). Tonight we dine at Bailey’s Restaurant at Governor’s Lodge.
DAY 8 – FLETCHER’S MUTINY CYCLORAMA & DEPARTURE (B,L)
After our last hearty cooked breakfast on the island, we have time to explore Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama to view an amazing 360-degree panoramic painting. We then head to the airport for our return flight to Brisbane. SEE YORLYE GANE!
