DAY 1. Depart Brisbane on Spirit of the Outback (D)

Join your tour host and depart late afternoon on the ‘Spirit of the Outback’ for an incredible view of Queensland’s captivating outback. Our journey takes us through the heritage towns of the Central West. 1 Night Stay: Sleeper Cabin aboard the Spirit of the Outback

DAY 2. Barcaldine – Longreach (B,L,D)

This epic rail journey arrives into Barcaldine early afternoon where we disembark and visit the Tree of Knowledge. We then board our luxury ‘Gold Class’ or ‘Diamond Class’ coach, and venture on to Longreach where we check-in to our accommodation. Tonight we experience dinner followed by the Luminescent Longreach light and sound show at Qantas Founders Museum. 3 Night Stay: Diamond Class: Glamping at Mitchell Grass Retreat, Longreach / Gold Class: Longreach Motor Inn

DAY 3. Longreach Touring (B,L,D)

Our morning begins at the Qantas Founders Museum, where we enjoy a private Airpark Tour before exploring the museum and its fascinating aviation history. We then continue to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame for a complete outback heritage experience, including the award-winning Museum & Galleries, A Stockman’s Tale cinema presentation, the entertaining Live Outback Stockman’s Show, and the NEW After the Rains immersive experience. This evening, we unwind on a relaxing Thomson River sunset cruise, taking in the colours of the outback as the sun sets. The night continues with an outback dinner and live show beneath the stars, a memorable finale to a wonderful day in Longreach.

DAY 4. Winton Touring (B,L,D)

Travelling to Winton we spend time at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, the world’s largest collection of unique Australian dinosaur fossils and the most productive fossil preparation lab in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy a guided tour taking in the Fossil Preparation Laboratory and Collection Room and March of the Titanosaurs exhibition at Dinosaur Canyon. Our afternoon takes us to the Waltzing Matilda Centre.

DAY 5. Longreach to Toogunna Plains Farmstay (B,L,D)

We farewell Longreach this morning and journey through Stonehenge, stopping at Swanvale Lookout for sweeping Channel Country views. Near Jundah, we visit The Native Well, used by Aboriginal people for centuries, before exploring this small outback township. After lunch in Windorah, we continue to Toogunna Plains Farmstay, a 5th-generation sheep and cattle property with beautifully presented ensuite cabins. Late afternoon, enjoy Kyra Sandhills at Sunset with drinks and canapés as the glorious colours of the Channel Country spread across the rolling red landscape. 2 Night Stay: Toogunna Plains Farmstay

DAY 6. Toogunna Plains Farmstay (B,L,D)

Join our hosts on a station tour today for an insightful look into the unique challenges and joys of living on the land. This afternoon, we visit the Eromanga Natural History Museum, to meet Australia’s largest dinosaur from some 95-million years ago. Enjoy sunset drinks and canapés on the museum’s spectacular outdoor pavilion. Then savour an exclusive 5-course ‘Tastes of the Outback’ dinner in their multi-million-dollar Reception Gallery.

DAY 7. Quilpie, Charleville to Roma (B,L,D)

This morning, we stop in Quilpie for a cuppa and visit to the Quilpie Shire Museum & Art Gallery before continuing to Charleville. Tour Outback Date Farms, explore the plantation and sample fresh dates, followed by lunch. We then visit the Bilby Experience to learn about this endangered marsupial and its successful breeding and release program. Travelling via Mitchell, we continue to Roma, home to Australia’s largest cattle saleyards. 1 Night Stay: Roma Explorers Inn

DAY 8. Roma to Brisbane (B,L)

Today we make our way back to Brisbane, breaking at Toowoomba for lunch with a view. We arrive back to the Brisbane Coach Terminal late afternoon.
