Day 1. Brisbane – O’Reilly’s, Lamington National Park (L,D)
We depart from the Brisbane Coach Terminal on our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ coach, ensuring responsible travel with 100% offset coach emissions. Sit back and relax as we make our way to O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards for lunch, wine tasting, and time with the friendly alpacas. In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Lamington National Park, part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. Day 2. Lamington National Park (B,L,D)
For the early risers and avid bird watchers, take a self-guided early morning bird walk to see the feathered locals. Following breakfast, we will join our guide for a privately guided tree top canopy walk. Stroll across nine footbridges suspended 16 metres in the air for a unique perspective of the subtropical rainforest. A guide will point out highlights of the diverse ecosystem and help identify unique species of flora and fauna. After lunch at the retreat, we join a Birds of Prey live show before embarking on an afternoon 4WD tour, a fabulous way to see the wonders surrounding this plateau. The tour takes us through rainforest and various ecosystems, stopping at incredible lookouts within the World Heritage listed Lamington National Park. Tonight, enjoy our ‘Christmas in July’ themed dinner.
Day 3. Tweed Heads – Kingscliff (B,MT,L,D)
Enjoy breakfast at leisure before we farewell our rainforest retreat, descending from the heights of the Lamington Plateau. Next, experience the tranquillity of the Tweed River and Valley on the Tweed Eco Cruises River and Rainforest lunch cruise. This journey offers nature lovers, birdwatchers, foodies, and photographers a unique escape. Enjoy morning tea and a locally sourced lunch aboard the Golden Swan as you glide through lush landscapes, witnessing abundant birdlife and the rainforest at Stotts Island. Learn from the captain’s expert commentary while taking in stunning views of Wollumbin (Mt Warning) and the hinterland. Keep an eye out for resident dolphins, Kingy and Herbie, as you relax and unwind in nature. Day 4. Byron Bay (B,L,D)
This morning, visit Tropical Fruit World for a guided safari tour through a 200-acre plantation, learning about and tasting tropical fruits. Then, continue to Byron Bay to ride the world’s first Solar Train, a restored 1949-era train powered by solar energy. Enjoy vintage lounge seats and scenic views of rainforest, wetlands, and Belongil Creek. After lunch in Byron Bay, enjoy some relaxation time to explore local shops and boutiques, or perhaps visit the famous beach for a dip in the ocean.
Day 5. Brisbane (B,D)
We leave the coast and head to Brisbane’s South Bank Precinct. Our first stop is the Wheel of Brisbane, offering 360-degree views of the city from 60 metres up in air-conditioned gondolas. Enjoy leisure time at South Bank Parklands before transferring to our Brisbane City hotel for an overnight stay. **Lunch is at your own expense today. 1 Night Stay: Royal on the Park, Brisbane City
Day 6. Farewell (B)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a free morning in Brisbane City to browse the markets at Brisbane Botanic Gardens (opposite your hotel), explore the wharf precinct, or ride the free inner-city ferry ‘KittyCats’. Meet back at the hotel for our transfer to the Brisbane Coach Terminal or to the airport for our respective flights home.
