Day 4. Roebuck Bay scenic and prehistoric boat tour (B,L,D)
A 6am departure from our hotel today, we are provided a champagne breakfast on tour. Discover Roebuck Bay, a heritage listed marine park, and immerse yourself in the awe inspiring Kimberley Coastline. Our locally guided tour provides an informative commentary of everything about Broome. Hear of its colourful history, the evolution of the coastline, and of course the science behind the perfectly preserved, 120 million year old dinosaur footprints that are fossilised in rock on a secluded beach. Cruising on a purpose built shallow landing vessel, you are able to disembark directly onto the beach to explore this intriguing coastline. We will take a short beach walk to stand in the dinosaur footprints, then take in Dampier Creek to see the flora, fauna and spectacular surroundings of the white sands and many winding tributaries. N.B. Guests are required to walk into water shin deep and reef shoes are compulsory. Advisable to bring a jacket. GGP
Day 5. Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm & Cape Leveque (B,MT,L,D)
The Dampier Peninsula is culturally rewarding in a beautiful environment. Today we journey up the Cape Leveque Road, breaking for morning tea in the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home to the Sacred Heart Church and its glimmering pearl shell altar. From here we travel north to the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, where we learn about the history and cultivation of the world’s finest pearls. Relax and enjoy a delightful lunch prepared by the chef at Cygnet Bay’s licensed restaurant, overlooking the turquoise waters of King Sound. Our afternoon takes us to One Arm Point, where we tour a local aquaculture hatchery perched right on the tip of One Arm Point overlooking the impressive Buccaneer Archipelago. Returning south we discover Cape Leveque (locally known as Kooljaman), taking time here to relax on the pristine beaches and spectacular coastline.
