Day 1. Arrive Hobart (D)
Our flights arrive into Hobart where we board our luxury ‘Diamond Class’ coach. This evening, enjoy a seafood dinner at the lively Drunken Admiral for a taste of Tasmania. 3 Night Stay: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart
Day 2. Hobart & Surrounds (B,L,D)
Today we travel via Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen to visit Port Arthur Historic Site, part of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Australian Convict Sites. Embark on a guided walking tour of this former penal colony, where we explore more than 30 restored buildings and ruins. We then set off on a 30-minute cruise on Carnarvon Bay to admire the natural beauty of this sombre site. We reboard our coach and travel back to Hobart via Eaglehawk Neck.
Day 3. Merry Christmas (B,L,D)
Merry Christmas! After a festive breakfast together, the morning is yours to relax and enjoy the facilities of our hotel or take a stroll along the waterfront. The highlight today is gathering for our Christmas Day lunch with all the trimmings. Enjoy a long sumptuous lunch with fresh Tassie delicacies, traditional fare and included beverages as we celebrate with friends old and new. A light dinner will be provided tonight at our hotel.
Day 4. Hobart – Strahan (B,L,D)
Leaving Hobart, we trace the Derwent Valley to Russell Falls, known for its tiered cascade. Next, we explore ‘The Wall in the Wilderness’, an ongoing artistic project depicting the Central Highlands history. In the afternoon, we journey west, visiting Nelson Waterfalls and viewing the Iron Blow copper mine and Queenstown before reaching Strahan. 2 Night Stay: Strahan Village Motel, Strahan.
Day 5. Gordon River Cruise – Strahan (B,L,D)
Soak up the serene beauty of western Tasmania and relax in reserved window seating as we cruise the mighty Gordon River. We pass natural landmarks like Hells Gates, which marks the entrance to Macquarie Harbour from the Southern Ocean. We disembark and visit Sarah Island, a former convict settlement and shipyard. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board as we journey through the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area before returning to Strahan for the afternoon.
Day 6. West Coast Wilderness Railway – Cradle Mountain (B,L,D)
Today, step back in time aboard the fully restored heritage carriages of the West Coast Wilderness Railway, as our guided journey brings the stories of the wild west coast and its resilient pioneers to life. Enjoy lunch on board before the rail journey concludes. This evening, experience Devils@Cradle on an after-dark feeding tour, offering a rare and fascinating opportunity to see Tasmanian devils up close as they feed. 1 Night Stay: Cradle Mountain Hotel
Day 7. Devonport (B,L,D)
This morning, enjoy a guided walk through the ancient myrtles and King Billy pines of Cradle Valley to Weindorfer’s Chalet, gaining insight into the early pioneers who shaped Cradle Mountain National Park. We then enjoy lunch at Communion Brewing Co before a scenic ride on the Nut Chairlift, soaking up breathtaking coastal views. Re-boarding the coach, we travel along Tasmania’s picturesque north coast via Penguin and Ulverstone, arriving in Devonport for our overnight stay. 1 Night Stay: Novotel Devonport
Day 8. Devonport – Launceston (B,L,D)
Today we visit Sheffield, famed for its 100+ murals depicting local history and characters, before enjoying time to explore and have lunch in Deloraine. Our final stop is Launceston’s Cataract Gorge, where we ride the world’s longest single-span chairlift for spectacular views over this unique urban wilderness. 2 Night Stay: Country Club Tasmania Launceston
Day 9. Launceston (B,L,D)
Today we travel to Beauty Point, stopping at Brady’s Lookout and Beaconsfield, with a choice of visiting the world’s only Seahorse Farm or Platypus House. Crossing the unique A-frame Batman Bridge into East Tamar, we break for lunch before continuing to Legerwood to view the remarkable memorial tree carvings honouring soldiers lost in WWI. Tonight, we celebrate New Year’s Eve together as we welcome 2027.
Day 10. Launceston (B)
Happy New Year! After a leisurely breakfast this morning we make our way to Launceston Airport for our respective flights home. 100% Flight Carbon Emissions Offset.
