DAY 1 – Brisbane to Port Macquarie (MT,L,D)
We depart from the Brisbane Coach Terminal on our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ coach, travel responsibly knowing all coach emissions are 100% oset. We travel south, breaking for morning tea at Kingscliff before continuing to Yamba for lunch. DAY 2 – Hunter Valley (B,L,D)
Today we make our way via the mid north coast to Forster. We continue, passing Pacific Palms, Seaham, and Morpeth before enjoying lunch at Beresfield. We then make a pit stop at the iconic Big Ugg for a whimsical photo opportunity before exploring the museum at Mortels Sheepskin Factory. Afterwards, we indulge in a wine and cheese-matching experience in Pokolbin, immersing in the flavours of the region. 2 Night Stay: Mercure Resort Hunter Valley Gardens, Hunter Valley
DAY 3 – Maitland & Hunter Valley (B,MT,L,D)
This morning we visit Tocal Homestead for a guided tour of this beautiful heritage site. Hear stories of the characters and activities at Tocal over the past 200 years. See the famous barn the colonial architect designed, hear about a lad who went on to become Captain Thunderbolt. Our afternoon is spent in Maitland where we take a guided tour of heritage listed Maitland Gaol. Once housing some of Australia’s most hardened and notorious criminals, today the Gaol has unlocked the gates for us to explore the site. Our evening takes us to the Hunter Valley Gardens for the annual Christmas Lights Spectacular where over 2 million lights are on display and our evening includes a sumptuous Christmas dinner on the Garden Terrace.
DAY 4 – Bathurst & Cowra (B,L,D)
Today we travel through the Goulburn River National Park to arrive in Bathurst. We take our coach on a spin of the Mt Panorama Circuit (events depending) then continue on to Cowra. 2 Night Stay: Cowra Services Club Motel
DAY 5 – Cherry Festival (B,D)
Visit the Cowra Japanese Gardens, Poppa’s Fudge and Jam Factory, then head to the Cherry Festival in Young for markets, car shows, and more. Enjoy cherry picking at Ballinaclash Orchard before returning for the Festival Street Parade. Lunch is at your own expense today. *Festival program is based on 2024 and is subject to change.
DAY 6 – Dubbo (B,L,D)
Leaving Cowra we make our way to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo for lunch and a guided Savannah Safari tour.The zoo is an open-range design, with walls and fences replaced by concealed moats which divide the animals from the visitors, creating the breathtaking impression of actually being with the animals in the wild. 1 Night Stay: Dubbo RSL Motel
DAY 7 – Goondiwindi (B,L,D)
Today we head to Coonabarabran. After lunch, travelling via Narrabri and Moree we arrive in the cotton capital of Goondiwindi, nestled on the banks of the Macintyre River. We enjoy a final farewell dinner together tonight. 1 Night Stay: Best Western Ascot Lodge, Goondiwindi
DAY 8 – Return to Brisbane (B,L)
This morning, we join a local guide exploring Goondiwindi, where we will discover the town and gain insights into the local cotton industry, learning about the cultivation, processing, and significance of cotton in the region. After our tour, we continue our journey to Toowoomba, breaking for lunch at the iconic Picnic Point, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Great Dividing Range. Following a relaxing lunch, we make our way back to Brisbane Coach Terminal.
