Day 1: Welcome to Perth

After meeting your Travel Director at your hotel this afternoon, set off on a tour of the city, visiting Kings Park and its delightful Botanic Garden on the broad expanse of the Swan River. You’ll notice many public art installations around the city and develop a feel for the varying precincts surrounding the CBD. This evening, enjoy the company of your fellow travellers over a shared meal. Hotel: Travelodge Perth. Included Meals: Dinner

Day 2: Perth – Wave Rock

Today’s journey takes you through the Golden Outback to Hyden, where you’ll join a local guide on a tour of Boddington Gold Mine, currently the continent’s largest. Continue to iconic Wave Rock, a three-million-year-old natural rock formation, then take a short walk to discover the little-known Hippo’s Yawn, another fascinating geological formation. Afterwards you may like to wander through the visitor centre’s eclectic collection of lace and the largest collection of toy soldiers in the world, or even take a tour of Hyden Wildlife Park. This evening, dine at your hotel. Hotel: Wave Rock Motel, Hyden. Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner

Day 3: Wave Rock – Kalgoorlie

Take an exclusive farm tour this morning with a Wave Rock local, Sheena, to hear about life in the Outback. You’ll have the opportunity of helping to feed the cattle, then you may choose to examine the property’s private collection of vintage cars. Leaving Hyden, view the famous Super Pit gold mine, which produces up to 850,000 ounces of gold annually, from the lookout. During springtime, you may see dazzling wildflowers in bloom by the roadside today. On arrival in Kalgoorlie discover the character of this historic town on an orientation tour. Dine this evening at Kalgoorlie’s iconic pub, the Exchange Hotel. Hotel: Rydges Kalgoorlie. Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner

Day 4: Kalgoorlie – Esperance

Today visit Cape Le Grand National Park for breathtaking views of wild coastal scenery, rugged granite peaks and sweeping heathlands. Stop at awe-inspiring Thistle Cove to marvel at its dazzling white sand and crystal-clear blue water. At stunning Lucky Bay, kangaroos are often to be found lazing on the pristine beach. Hotel: Comfort Inn Bay of Isles, Esperance. Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner

Day 5: Esperance – Albany

See the mysterious Pink Lake just outside Esperance, and travel through Ravensthorpe and the Fitzgerald Biosphere to Bluff Knoll Lookout to witness the rugged beauty of the Stirling Ranges National Park, one of the world’s richest in flora. Continue to Albany, a town imbued with Anzac history, and settle in to your hotel for the night. Hotel: The Dog Rock Motel, Albany, 2 nights, Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner.

Day 6: Albany

This morning, take your time to explore this historic town. In 1914, 41,000 Australians and New Zealanders left from Albany on their way to the WWI battlefields. This afternoon visit the recently-inaugurated National Anzac Centre. Hotel: The Dog Rock Motel, Albany. Included Meals: Breakfast

Day 7: Albany – Margaret River

Visit the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk this morning to explore the canopy of the ancient Tingle forest. Stop in Nannup at lunchtime with time to explore, then travel on to Cape Leeuwin, where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. You may like to take a guided tour to the top of the famous lighthouse before leaving for Margaret River, one of Australia’s premier wine-growing regions. Hotel: Quality Inn Margaret River, 2 nights. Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner.

Day 8: Margaret River

First up you’ll get the chance to see fossils, stalactites and stalagmites in the impressive caves of the region. Then get ready for a day that will delight your taste buds! Margaret River is known not only for its fabulous wines but also for its fresh produce and boutique producers. At Vasse Virgin you’ll learn about olive oil, taste gourmet produce, and sample a range of beauty preparations made from the oil of olives grown on the property. Continue to a local winery for wine-tastings and lunch prepared solely from fresh local produce. This afternoon you’ll have some free time to relax or explore the town of Margaret River. Your evening is free to do as you please. Hotel: Quality Inn Margaret River. Included Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day 9: Margaret River – Fremantle

This morning why not take a stroll along Busselton Jetty, the popular holiday town on the shores of Geographe Bay. Then on arrival in Fremantle you’ll have the afternoon to explore this wonderful town. You may like to visit the colourful Fremantle Markets. There are 150 stalls under one roof and you’ll have a chance to purchase local arts and crafts and taste local delights. We recommend taking a wander along the Fremantle foreshore to discover the impressive fishing fleet and perhaps enjoy a refreshing ale at Little Creatures Brewery. Celebrate your holiday at dinner at your hotel with your Travel Director and new-found friends. Hotel: Esplanade Hotel Fremantle – by Rydges. Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner

Day 10: Farewell from Fremantle

Join a local guide for a private tour of Fremantle Prison. Step inside and take a journey back in time where you can view life as it was for prisoners and discover how time was passed in the yards, while marvelling at original prisoner works of art. From its convict origins in the 1850s until its closure as a maximum-security gaol in 1991, your entertaining guide will show you the lighter side of prison life. Say farewell to your fellow travellers when your holiday comes to an end later this morning. Included Meals: Breakfast
