Day 1. Depart Brisbane to Roma (MT,L,D)
We depart Brisbane Coach Terminal on our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ coach, travelling responsibly knowing all coach emissions are 100% offset. We travel through the Lockyer Valley and onto Toowoomba where we break for morning tea. We continue on to Chinchilla, breaking here for lunch before moving on and settling down for the night at Roma. 1 Night Stay: Roma Explorers Inn
Day 2. Roma to Charleville (B,L,D)
Enjoy a town tour of Roma, then head to Charleville for lunch and a guided tour of the historic Hotel Corones. In the evening, enjoy the Big Sky Twilight Tour at The Cosmos Centre, where you’ll explore the night sky through powerful telescopes and hear captivating stories from expert guides.. 1 Night Stay: Mulga Country Motor Inn, Charleville
Day 3. Charleville to Toogunna Plains Station (B,L,D)
This morning, we explore Charleville’s WWII Secret Base, discovering its wartime role. Next, we head to Quilpie for a guided town tour, including Baldy Top Lookout and St Finbarr’s Opal Altar. In the afternoon, we arrive at Toogunna Plains Farmstay, a family-run sheep and cattle property in the Channel Country. Day 4. Toogunna Plains Station, Eromanga (B,MT,L,D)
Wake up to the stunning beauty of this 130,000-acre property and enjoy a gourmet breakfast. Join our hosts for a morning station tour to learn about life on the land. After lunch, relax and soak in the outback atmosphere. In the afternoon, we visit the Eromanga Natural History Museum to meet Australia’s largest dinosaur. We’ll watch fossil preparation and see megafauna fossils and more. End the day with sunset drinks and canapés, followed by an exclusive ‘Taste of the Outback’ dinner in the museum’s gallery.
Day 5. Windorah to Longreach & Mitchell Grass Retreat (B,L,D)
After a hearty breakfast, we head north into the heart of the Channel Country. We’ll stop for lunch in Windorah before continuing on through Jundah, where we’ll visit The Native Well, an ancient water source used by Aboriginal people. After a refreshment break in Stonehenge, we’ll journey on to Longreach and check into our glamping tents where another outback sunset greets us.. 3 Night Stay: Mitchell Grass Retreat Glamping
Day 6. Winton touring (B,L,D)
At Winton we arrive at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, home to the largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils. On guided tours, explore the March of Titanosaurs and Dinosaur Canyon. After lunch, visit the Waltzing Matilda Centre and Qantilda Museum for historical insights and art exhibitions. It’s a day filled with history, art, and ancient wonders.
Day 7. Longreach touring (B,L,D)
This morning, visit the Qantas Founders Museum for a tour revealing the story of one of aviation’s pioneers. Next, we head to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame to explore bush history, with tales of bushrangers, shearers, and stockmen, followed by a live Stockman’s Show. End the day with a relaxing sunset cruise on the Thomson River, then enjoy an outback dinner and show by a campfire under the stars.
Day 8. Spirit of the Outback (B,L,D)
Embarking on the journey back, we bid farewell to Longreach and step aboard the Spirit of the Outback. Enriched by the ever-changing landscape, we savour the culinary delights and fine wines of the Tuckerbox restaurant. 1 Night Stay: Sleeper Cabin aboard the Spirit of the Outback
Day 9. Arrive Brisbane (B)
As the new day dawns, we awaken to the mesmerising vista of cane fields and the majestic Glass House Mountains. Our voyage concludes as we arrive at the Brisbane Transit Centre, marking the end of our remarkable expedition.
