DAY 1 – Arrive Sydney, visit Bowral Tulip Festival

Arriving at Sydney Airport under your own arrangements (please arrive prior to 10am) you will be met by your tour host and board the coach to the Southern Highlands. We visit Corbett Gardens for the annual Bowral Tulip Festival with its stunning displays of sweeping spring colour. We then visit the Bradman Cricket Hall of Fame and the story of the Boy from Bowral. Overnight Mercure Goulburn (L,D)

DAY 2 – Canberra Floriade

Today is festival day! Following breakfast we depart to Canberra and Commonwealth Park, which is the centre of the Floriade Festival. The flower display is the largest of its type in the southern hemisphere. We spend the morning here with free time to wander around at our leisure and to purchase lunch if you wish. This afternoon we visit Cockington Green. In this English village there are thatched cottages, a tiny church, the village green, an oats house in Kent, a riverside inn, castles and even Stonehenge. Overnight IBIS Styles, Canberra (B,D)

DAY 3 – Canberra Discovery War Memorial, Last Post

Of course, Canberra is the seat of Government in Australia. Today we have planned a tour of Parliament House – home of Australia’s Parliament and the meeting place of the nation. Next is the Museum of Australian Democracy (formerly Old Parliament House). The remainder of our afternoon will be at the Australian War Memorial. The focus of the commemoration is the Hall of Memory together with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Pool of Reflection and the Roll of Honour. We stay to hear the Last Post and closing ceremony. Overnight IBIS Styles, Canberra (B,D)

DAY 4 – Canberra to Cowra

Today we head to Cowra, the town made famous by the POW Camp located here during World War II and the now famous “Cowra Breakout”. A local guide joins the coach for our town tour. We will also visit the Australian & Japanese War Cemeteries, which contains the graves of the Japanese involved in the POW breakout. This is the only Japanese War Cemetery in Australia. We then visit the Cowra Japanese Gardens. Meandering paths and wooden bridges allow us to explore and view the gardens at ease. Overnight Townhouse Motel, Cowra (B,D)

DAY 5 – Bathurst & Blue Mountains

From Cowra we travel to Bathurst and take a drive around the Mount Panorama Racing Circuit. As the circuit is actually a public road it’s easy to experience the “on track” feeling! We then take a sightseeing tour of Bathurst, then make our way to Oberon and visit Mayfield Gardens. There is a maze, an oak forest and an 80 meter cascade that tumbles down the hillside, along with extensive parterre gardens. We relax over lunch here and later this afternoon we make our way to the Blue Mountains. Overnight Zig Zag Motel, Blue Mountains (B,L,D)

DAY 6 – Blue Mountains

This morning we visit Everglades Gardens, one of the most important historic gardens in the region. Morning tea, then we make our way to the magnificent Carrington Hotel. On arrival we enjoy a tour followed by a delicious high tea. We take the scenic Cliff Drive where we take in the sights of Echo Point and the mystical Three Sisters and after a photo opportunity we return to Leura with time at leisure to explore the village. Overnight Comfort Inn Redleaf Resort (B,MT,D)

DAY 7 – Sydney, Homeward Bound
