Day 1. Brisbane to Montville (MT,L,D)
Departing from Brisbane Transit Centre on our luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach, we leisurely head north through the picturesque scenery of the Glass House Mountains. We ascend into the Sunshine Coast Hinterland arriving at the spectacular Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World. Enjoy a lovely Devonshire morning tea overlooking the beautiful gardens and rolling landscapes. Stroll through the lush, verdant gardens, and enjoy interactive encounters with native and exotic birds in the walk through aviaries with a guided tour with experienced birdkeepers. Meet the wide variety of resident birds including cockatoos, macaws and more and get one-of-a-kind photo opportunities with these friendly birds – on your hand, on your head, and against the backdrop of the scenic Glass House Mountains. Following lunch we make our way to Montville to check-in to our accommodation and take time browsing the nic nac shops in the main street where our hotel is ideally located. 4 Night Stay: Montville Mountain Inn Resort, Montville
Day 2. Noosa Everglades (B,MT,L,D)
Enjoy a relaxing day discovering the Noosa Everglades, known as the ‘River of Mirrors’. With an experienced guide offering an educational commentary on the Noosa region and local wildlife, we take in the stunning natural landscapes on an unforgettable wilderness cruise across Lake Cootharaba to the start of the Noosa Everglades. Enjoy a guided boardwalk at Fig Tree Point, then venture further into the Everglades stopping at historic Harry’s Hut – a relic of the early timber cutting days. Take time for a swim in pristine waters and photograph the abundant wildlife in this unique natural environment. Enjoy lunch while taking in the stunning views before our return to the hinterland. Day 3. Ginger Flower and Food Festival (B,D)
The Ginger Flower and Food Festival will delight foodies and garden lovers alike showcasing the most exquisite range of ornamental ginger and heliconia plants, the festival will be packed with an exciting line-up of Sunshine Coast cooking and gardening experts. The Ginger Flower and Food Festival will be jam-packed with a thrilling line-up of Sunshine Coast chefs who will be showcasing all that is fresh to the Sunshine Coast and how specific ingredients match perfectly with ginger. The Garden Gazebo is the go to place for gardening tips and advice, with gardening specialists guaranteed to wow all keen gardeners. We will have plenty of coach bin space for those who wish to purchase from the array of over three thousand exquisite ornamental gingers and heliconia’s for sale. Tantalise your taste buds taste-testing a delicious assortment of products, showcased by local food producers. There will be plenty of fun entertainment and surprise celebrities in show for you. **Lunch is at own expense today to take in the variety of food stalls showcasing all that is ginger. GGP
Day 4. Eumundi Markets (B,L,D)
This morning we travel to Eumundi Markets and step into an ever-evolving collaboration of talented locals seeking to share their gifts with the world. The Original Eumundi Markets is the biggest and the best art and craft market in Australia. Meet the talented hands behind handcrafted furniture, homewares, artworks, ceramics, cutting-edge fashion and jewellery, and chat to the farmers and bakers selling fresh produce and gourmet delights. Next, we re-board the coach and travel to the country township of Kenilworth where we enjoy a country pub counter lunch followed by free time to meet the locals downtown. Be sure to visit Kenilworth Dairies who have been making cheese in Kenilworth for more than 60 years. We return to Montville mid-afternoon. GGP
Day 5. Montville to Brisbane (B,L)
Departing Montville we head down the mountain and make our way to Gympie, home to the Mary Valley Rattler Steam Train. Explore the Station which houses a historical display sharing stories of the Mary Valley Railway line and its people. We then we step on board the iconic and meticulously restored Mary Valley Rattler Steam Train for a journey winding our way through the Mary Valley. Sit back and relax whilst enjoying the breathtaking scenery that takes us alongside the Amamoor State Forest. We disembark at Dagun and rejoin the coach where we make our way to Imbil, breaking here for lunch. We then slowly head for home, arriving back into Brisbane Transit Centre at approximately 5pm.
