DAY 1 – MELBOURNE (D)
Fly Carbon Neutral to Melbourne Airport arriving mid-afternoon, where we are met by a local coach company to transfer into the city. We arrive at the hub of the Melbourne CBD, giving you free time to discover Melbourne’s laneways, restaurants and shops, before making our way to the hotel to check in. 2 Night Stay: Crown Metropol, Melbourne
DAY 2 – MELBOURNE (B,L,D)
Today board your opulent ‘Diamond Class’ coach travelling responsibly knowing all coach emissions are 100% offset. We venture into the Dandenong Ranges, travelling through the picturesque low mountain ranges east of the city. All aboard the historic Puffing Billy Steam Train for a ride through the lush, green forests, crossing Monbulk Creek Trestle Bridge and chugging through to Lakeside Station. Here we detrain, join the coach and travel to lunch with a magnificent view.
DAY 3 – SKENES CREEK (B,L,D)
This morning we make our way to the Mornington Peninsula to take a ride on Arthurs Seat Eagle; aerial gondolas that will whisk us from the base to the Arthurs Seat summit for morning tea. We then travel by ferry from Sorrentoto Queenscliff to start our Great Ocean Road journey, stopping at Torquay and the world-famous Bells Beach. 1 Night Stay: Ocean Road Motel, Skenes Creek
DAY 4 – WARRNAMBOOL (B,L,D)
We continue our scenic journey of the Great Ocean Road, stopping at Apollo Bay. From here we venture into the Otway Ranges, descend the ranges and follow the coastline again arriving at the Twelve Apostles where we take a scenic flight over the rugged Victorian Coastline. Our afternoon takes us through Port Campbell, finishing the day at Warrnambool. 1 Night Stay: Best Western Olde Maritime Motor Inn, Warrnambool
DAY 5 – NARACOORTE (B,L,D)
Leaving Warrnambool this morning we cross the border into South Australia taking a break at Mount Gambier. Following our break, we drive around the Blue Lake before we continue on to Naracoorte Caves National Park. One of 11 World Heritage fossil sites, enjoy a guided tour of the Alexandra Cave. This spectacular cave was discovered in 1908, and is full of speleothems – stalactites, stalagmites, and columns. You’ll be amazed by the contrast between delicate needle-like stalactites and massive twisting columns. 1 Night Stay: William Macintosh Motor Lodge, Naracoorte
DAY 6 – ADELAIDE (B,L,D)
Departing the limestone coast region of South Australia, we first break at Keith then venture on to cross the Murray River at Murray Bridge. After lunch our afternoon takes us to Adelaide where we check in to our city hotel. 2 Night Stay: Hilton Hotel, Adelaide
DAY 7 – ADELAIDE (B,L,D)
Enjoy a casual morning before we travel to Adelaide’s highest peak, Mount Lofty Summit, and take in sweeping views of the city and coast. We continue on taking a stop at Beerenberg Farm Shop for time to taste and opportunity to purchase some products. We arrive at Hahndorf which has a distinctly Bavarian feel. Enjoy a traditional German inspired lunch, followed by free time independently exploring the village.
DAY 8 – FLINDERS RANGES (B,L,D)
Travelling into the Barossa Valley, we arrive at Seppeltsfield, which boasts over 420 acres of vineyard, gardens, and heritage-listed architecture. We take a behind the scenes guided tour to look through the estate’s treasure trove of historical buildings, enjoy a tasting and discover the underground blending cellar. From here we travel through the stunning natural landscapes of the Flinders Ranges, arriving at Wilpena Pound, a magnificent natural amphitheatre surrounded by a rim of mountains. 2 Night Stay: Wilpena Pound Resort
DAY 9 – FLINDERS RANGES (B,L,D)
The best way to see the grandeur of the Flinders Ranges is from the air. Take to the skies on a 30-minute scenic flight where you will truly appreciate the vastness of this formation. Taking a complete circuit of Wilpena Pound, your pilot will point out the Elder Range, Edeowie Gorge, Heysen Range, Lake Torrens, Bunyeroo Gorge, Brachina Gorge, St Mary Peak and the Pound Gap. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own as there are many walks from the resort for those who wish to discover more on foot.
DAY 10 – BROKEN HILL (B,L,D)
We first break at Peterborough and then Cockburn, bidding South Australia goodbye crossing the border into New South Wales arriving at Broken Hill. 2 Night Stay: Desert Sands Motor Inn, Broken Hill
DAY 11. BROKEN HILL (B,L,AT,D)
With a local guide we discover Broken Hill, viewing heritage listed architecture and discovering the famous art galleries. Next, we head to Silverton, almost a ghost town, and the setting for many famous movies. We head back to Broken Hill taking a stop at Pro Hart Gallery. Later this afternoon, we visit the Living Desert Flora & Fauna Sanctuary, in readiness to witness a stunning outback sunset.
DAY 12 – MILDURA (B,L,D)
We depart Broken Hill breaking at Popiltah before arriving at Old Wentworth Gaol for a self-guided tour. The Old Wentworth Gaol is the oldest of the Australian designed gaols, a heritage-listed former gaol and school building now museum and old wares shop. 1 Night Stay: Mildura Inlander Resort
DAY 13 – BENDIGO (B,L,D)
A travel morning sees us break at Sea Lake before lunch in the country town of Charlton. We arrive in Bendigo where we take a guided tour of the Central Deborah Gold Mine and ride the Vintage Talking Tram. 1 Night Stay: All Seasons, Bendigo
DAY 14 – MELBOURNE (B)
We farewell Bendigo and we make our way to Melbourne Airport for our respective Carbon Neutral flights home.
