DAY 1. Arrive Melbourne (L,D)
Fly into Melbourne by 11am where you will board our signature ‘Diamond Class’ coach and head into the Dandenong Ranges where we will enjoy lunch and entertainment at the German themed Cuckoo Restaurant. Our afternoon takes us to the seaside town of Inverloch where we check in to our accommodation. 2 Night Stay: RACV Inverloch Oceanside Resort
DAY 2. Phillip Island Cruise (B,L,D)
Wildlife lovers will enjoy our experiences today. We join Wildlife Coast Cruises for the Phillip Island Seal Cruise where we will experience an up-close encounter with thousands of seals at Australia’s largest fur seal colony. From here we travel to Phillip Island, home to the largest Little Penguin colony in the world. With premium viewing, experience the magic of watching these amazing seabirds waddle home from the ocean to their burrows. **Please note: As we cruise in open waters those who suffer motion sickness are advised to take the necessary precautions.
DAY 3. Queenscliff, Q Train, Bells Beach, Torquay (B,L,D)
This morning we make our way to Sorrento where we board the ferry to cross Port Phillip Bay to the town of Queenscliff. A highlight today is our journey on the Q Train for an enjoyable and relaxing lunch. The train travels towards Drysdale with views of Swan Bay and the farming district of Mannerim. Reboarding the coach we take a short drive to famous Bells Beach before making our way to our accommodation. 1 Night Stay: RACV Resort, Torquay
DAY 4. Great Ocean Road (B,MT,L,D)
Departing Torquay, we travel along the Great Ocean Road via the resort towns of Anglesea, Lorne and on to Apollo Bay. From here we venture into the Otway Ranges, descend the ranges and follow the coastline again arriving at the Twelve Apostles where we take a scenic flight over the rugged Victorian Coastline. Our afternoon takes us through Port Campbell, finishing the day at Warrnambool. 1 Night Stay: Best Western Olde Maritime Motor Inn, Warrnambool
DAY 5. Warrnambool to Naracoorte & Penola (B,MT,L,D)
Leaving Warrnambool this morning we cross the border into South Australia taking a break at Mount Gambier. Following a cuppa break here, we drive around the Blue Lake before we continue on to Naracoorte Caves National Park. One of 11 World Heritage fossil sites, enjoy a guided tour of the Alexandra Cave. This spectacular cave was discovered in 1908, and is full of speleothems – stalactites, stalagmites, and columns. You’ll be amazed by the contrast between delicate needle-like stalactites and massive twisting columns. 1 Night Stay: Alexander Cameron Suites, Penola
DAY 6. Penola to Murray Bridge & Adelaide (B,MT,L,D)
Departing the wine growing district of Coonawarra, we break at Keith for a cuppa. We venture on crossing the Murray River at Murray Bridge in time for lunch. Our afternoon takes us to Adelaide where we check-in to our city Hotel. 2 Night Stay: Hilton Hotel, Adelaide
DAY 7. Mt Lofty, Hahndorf (B,L,D)
Enjoy a casual morning before we travel to Adelaide’s highest peak, Mount Lofty Summit, and take in sweeping views of the city and coast. We continue on taking a stop at Beerenberg Farm Shop for time to taste and opportunity to purchase some products. We arrive at Hahndorf which has a distinctly Bavarian feel. Spend some time independently exploring the village before enjoying a traditional German lunch with entertainment.
DAY 8. Barossa Valley to Flinders Ranges (B,L,D)
Travelling into the Barossa Valley, we arrive at Seppeltsfield, which boasts over 420 acres of vineyard, gardens, and heritage-listed architecture. We take a behind the scenes guided tour to look through the estate’s treasure trove of historical buildings, enjoy a tasting and discover the underground blending cellar. From here we travel through the stunning natural landscapes of the Flinders Ranges, arriving at Wilpena Pound, a magnificent natural Amphitheatre surrounded by a rim of mountains. 2 Night Stay: Wilpena Pound Resort, Flinders Ranges
DAY 9. Flinders Ranges Scenic Flight (B,L,D)
The best way to see the grandeur of the Flinders Ranges is from the air. Take to the skies on a 20-minute scenic flight where you will truly appreciate the vastness of this formation. Taking a completes a circuit of Wilpena Pound, your pilot will point out the Elder Range, Edeowie Gorge, Heysen Range, Lake Torrens, Bunyeroo Gorge, Brachina Gorge, St Mary Peak and the Pound Gap. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own as there are many walks from the resort for those who wish to discover more on foot.
DAY 10. Flinders Ranges to Broken Hill (B,MT,L,D)
Departing the Flinders Ranges we bid South Australia good-bye as cross the border into NSW arriving at the of Broken Hill. 2 Night Stay: Old Willyama Motor Inn, Broken Hill
DAY 11. Broken Hill (B,L,D)
With local guide we discover Broken Hill, viewing heritage listed architecture and discovering the famous art galleries. Next, we head to Silverton, almost a ghost town, and the setting for many famous movies. We head back to Broken Hill via the vast Mundi Mundi plains, taking a stop at Pro Hart Gallery. Later this afternoon, we visit the Living Desert Flora & Fauna Sanctuary, in readiness to witness a stunning outback sunset.
DAY 12. Broken Hill to Wentworth (B,MT,L,D)
We depart Broken Hill and arrive at Old Wentworth Gaol for a guided tour. The Old Wentworth Gaol is the oldest of the Australian designed gaols, a heritage listed former gaol and school building and now museum and old wares shop. 1 Night Stay: Wentworth Grande Resort
DAY 13. Wentworth to Bendigo (B,MT,L,D)
A travel morning breaking for a cuppa at Sea Lake then lunch at the country town of Charlton. We arrive in Bendigo where we take a guided tour of the Central Debra Gold Mine and ride the Vintage Talking Tram. 1 Night Stay: Mercure Bendigo Schaller
DAY 14. Flights home (B)
Enjoy a leisurely start to today before making our way to ArtVo Immersive Gallery where we step into a world of optical illusions. We then make our way to Melbourne Airport for our respective flights home.
