DAY 1. Depart Brisbane – Armidale (L,D)
We board our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ or luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach from the Brisbane Coach Terminal, and travel responsibly knowing all coach emissions are 100% offset. After a short break in Aratula we ascend Cunningham’s Gap to arrive in Stanthorpe for lunch paired with wines at Heritage Estate Winery. DAY 2. Dubbo (B,L,D)
We hit the road this morning bound for Tamworth, the country music capital of Australia. We take a quick stop at The Big Golden Guitar then continue on to Spring Ridge where we break for lunch. Next, we venture onwards to Dubbo, where an unforgettable wildlife experience awaits. Our overnight Zoofari experience at Dubbo Zoo offers an unforgettable adventure, immersing yourself in the wonders of the animal kingdom. This unique experience allows you to spend a night in the heart of the zoo, surrounded by incredible wildlife and the tranquil sounds of nature. DAY 3. DUBBO – GRIFFITH (B,L,D)
Awaken to the gentle calls of the animals and the soft hues of the morning sun. After an early morning safari tour, enjoy a delicious breakfast over looking the zoo. Leaving Dubbo Zoo behind our journey takes us on to Parkes, a vibrant town known for its connection to the famous Parkes Observatory, also known as ‘The Dish’. Explore the fascinating world of astronomy and enjoy lunch at the on-site café before continuing on to break in West Wyalong. DAY 4. GRIFFITH (B,L,D)
Today we explore Griffith with a local guide on-board including a visit to Hermits Hill Lookout, offering panoramic views of Griffith, and an opportunity to explore Hermits Cave. We take in the rich cultural tapestry of this town discovering its elegant buildings and Italian heritage. Next, we venture on to Catania Fruit Salad Farm for a working farm tour and BBQ lunch. Catania is a family owned farm where you can view and gain an understanding of how a wide variety of crops are grown in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. Our afternoon takes us to De Bortoli Wines to enjoy a hosted tasting discovering up to 6 wines from the seasonal wine menu in the historic cellar.
DAY 5. GRIFFITH – MILDURA (B,L,D)
Today brings our first look at the unique artistry of the Silo Trail. Witness awe-inspiring works of art as towering grain silos are transformed into massive, vibrant murals by talented artists. Upon arrival in Hay, we take time to see the water tower art. We then travel to Yanga Homestead. Here we admire the grand architecture and explore the surrounding national park with its diverse flora and fauna, before continuing on to Balranald for lunch. Later, enjoy the golden hues of the Australian outback as we head towards Mildura. 2 Night Stay: Best Western Chaffey Motor Inn, Mildura
DAY 6. MILDURA (B,MT,L,D)
Today we join a local guide and take a giant leap back in time and enjoy a day exploring the remarkable natural location of Lake Mungo which sits within The Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area. The tour highlight is to walk upon the spectacular moon-like dunes known as ‘The Walls of China’, an ice-age lunette. We weave our way through the evidence of the people and animals who once lived in this landscape- rare beauty of geologically unique, highly eroded formations. Experience the deep spirituality of this richly cultural place.
DAY 7. MILDURA – HALLS GAP (B,L,D)
Today’s journey through the picturesque landscapes of the Grampians region showcases the intriguing artwork of the Silo Art Trail. We start our day visiting Sea Lake and Lascelles before stopping for lunch in Hopetoun. Moving on to Rosebery, we discover the silo art that embodies the region’s past, present and future. Next, we see the indigenous Sheep Hills Silo, the colourful silo in Brim depicting farmers. We finish by visiting Rupanyup where we discover murals depicting firefighters. Lastly, we arrive in the Grampians where we Immerse ourselves in nature, spot wildlife, and unwind in this serene setting. 1 Night Stay: Country Plaza Hotel, Halls Gap
DAY 8. HALLS GAP – MELBOURNE (B,D)
We bid farewell to the Grampians and make our way to Sovereign Hill, a living museum nestled in the heart of Victoria’s goldfields. Step off the coach and enter a meticulously reconstructed town that authentically recreates the vibrant atmosphere of the gold rush era. Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of a bygone era as costumed characters bring history to life. This afternoon we embark on a scenic drive through picturesque landscapes before arriving in the bustling hub of Melbourne’s CBD. Tonight, enjoy a luxurious and elegant dining experience at The Conservatory.
