DAY 1. Saturday – Depart Brisbane Spirit of the Outback

Depart on the Spirit of the Outback scheduled to depart at 2.40pm departure for your journey to Longreach. Relax and enjoy the views of the rugged mountain ranges and farming areas of the Queensland coast before making our way inland on our Outback Adventure. Overnight Spirit of the Outback (All meals included in First Class Sleepers)

DAY 2. Sunday – Arrive Longreach, Welcome Dinner

Upon waking this morning on the train, the green hills of the coast have given way to the colour of rustic reds and sunburnt plains. We pass through historical towns of the Outback on our way into Longreach arriving late afternoon when we will transfer to our motel with time to freshen up for our group Welcome Dinner. 4 Nights: Longreach Motor Inn (D)

DAY 3. Monday – Stockman’s Hall Of Fame, Thomson River Cruise & Riverside Campfire Dinner

Today we make our way to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame. First the Cinema story of the Australian Stockman – a fully immersive cinematic experience showcasing virtual and real footage across a 16m screen. We then explore the museum and the Live Show – A Stockman’s Life, in the Outback Stockman Arena. Get an up close and personal experience with the stars of the show, human and four legged, live sheep muster, working dogs, horsemanship and stockman activities. This afternoon, we make our way into town and enjoy some time to wander the historical streets or join the Optional Extra: Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience. Then we will depart for a Sunset Cruise on the Thomson River, followed by a Riverside Outback Campfire Dinner. (B,D)

Take a 45 minute ride along the bush track, before a short gallop to ‘outrun the storm’. This is the only place in Australia you can gallop in a stagecoach! Please advise if you wish to pre-book this.

DAY 4. Tuesday – Winton, Age of Dinosaurs & Waltzing Matilda Centre

This morning following breakfast we depart for Winton and make our way to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History. We take a guided tour of the Museum’s Collection Room and enjoy the March of the Titanosaurs exhibition followed by a self-guided walk of Dinosaur Canyon. We then make our way into Winton for lunch followed by a tour of this fascinating town, including Arnos Wall the Musical Fence. This afternoon we visit the Waltzing Matilda Museum and Banjo Patterson’s Musical Wall which is a dedication to the man who first to perform this ballad in Winton before travelling back to Longreach. This evening we making our way to the amazing Luminescent Longreach which is a spectacular 20 minute light and sound experience designed to delight, entertain, inform and move. Stand amongst iconic aircraft as world class projection mapping and 360 degree immersive sound brings the 100 year story of Qantas to life with the mighty Boeing 747 serving as a primary canvas, told through 3D animation, traditional animation and illustration. DAY 5. Wednesday – Darr River Rail, Qantas Museum, Camden Park Station

This morning, we board Longreach’s only Heritage Rail Motor for an experience like no other. Travelling through the Mulga, arriving at Darr River we enjoy billy tea and smoko. This afternoon we visit the Qantas Museum enjoying the many Qantas stories and a tour of the 747, Original Hangar and Museum. We finish the day with a special Farewell Dinner and Paddock to Plate Sunset Tour. Starting this landmark historical tour, we explore the rich history and workings of an ex-sheep station, the iconic Camdem Park Station. We enjoy nibbles and sunset drinks before transferring to Longreach Station for our Paddock to Plate dinner experience, capping of a wonderful experience in the outback. (B,D)

DAY 6. Thursday – Depart Longreach, Spirit of the Outback

We board the Spirit of the Outback this morning for a magical journey home. Relax and enjoy the sun burnt plains and historical towns of the Outback. Overnight Spirit of the Outback (All meals included in First Class Sleepers) (B)

DAY 7. Friday – Arrive Brisbane

Today you will arrive into Brisbane at 11.50am after enjoying a charming rail journey from Queensland Outback with lots of fond memories of incredible Longreach, Winton and the Big Sky Country.
