DAY 1. TUEARRIVE PERTH

After making your own way to Perth, settle in to your accommodation. OVERNIGHT: Duxton Hotel Perth

DAY 2. WEDPERTH TO MARGARET RIVER

Your journey starts with a picturesque drive south to the fabulous Margaret River region enjoying several stops along the way. In Mandurah, a coffee break by the foreshore is followed by a visit to the Featured Wood Gallery and Museum in Bunbury. At Busselton, walk off your delicious lunch with a stroll along the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. After some free time to browse the shops and galleries in the Margaret River township, it’s time to head to your accommodation for the night. OVERNIGHT: 2 nights Margarets Beach Resort (B,L)

DAY 3. THUMARGARET RIVER

Today is a sensory overload of wonderful food, wine, culture and scenery as we indulge in regional specialties, including wine, as well as craft beer, coffee, cheeses, olive oil and chocolate with various esteemed local producers. (B,L)

DAY 4. FRIMARGARET RIVER TO PERTH

Today, we head to Redgate Beach to hear stories of the shipwrecks that lie offshore, then head underground to explore the spectacular Mammoth Cave. Next stop, majestic Boranup Forest dominated by 60-metre tall karri trees, and a tour of the tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia, Cape Leeuwin, before stopping for lunch. After lunch, it’s time to head back to your Perth accommodation. OVERNIGHT: 2 nights Duxton Hotel Perth (B,L)

DAY 5. SATLEISURE DAY

Today is yours to explore cosmopolitan Perth at your leisure. Take a walk to the new Elizabeth Quay, cruise the Swan River, stroll Kings Park, see the quokkas of Rottnest Island with Rottnest Express, or simply relax in the comfort of your accommodation. (B)

Uncover secret gardens, hidden art and colourful history as you roam the city streets. You’ll comb the Heritage Precinct and the old theatre districts before heading to the refurbished State Buildings that house 120 years of stories to share.

DAY 6. SUNBOARD THE INDIAN PACIFIC IN PERTH

This morning you will join the Indian Pacific, departing Perth, before heading east through the delightful Avon Valley. Take time out to enjoy this iconic train and relax in the Outback Explorer Lounge in anticipation of your your late-night arrival into the Golden Outback region. OVERNIGHT: 3 nights Indian Pacific (L,D)

DAY 7. MONINDIAN PACIFIC, NULLARBOR PLAIN

Wake to a spectacular Nullarbor sunrise. Relax throughout the morning taking in the outback vistas before a regionally inspired menu of modern Australian cuisine and fine wines awaits you for lunch. Today we visit the extraordinary and slightly eerie ghost town of Cook, home to a thriving population of four. (B,L,D)

DAY 8. TUEINDIAN PACIFIC, ADELAIDE AND BROKEN HILL

As the landscape changes again and rich ochre sands make way for forests and farmlands, you will arrive into Adelaide. After an exciting Off Train Excursion exploring the highlights of the South Australian capital, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your journey to Sydney. The next stop is Broken Hill where you’ll again have a choice of excursions that showcase the rich mining, artistic and cinematic legacy of this frontier outback town. (B,L,D)

DAY 9. WEDINDIAN PACIFIC, BLUE MOUNTAINS AND SYDNEY

When you wake this morning, take in the full spectacle of the Blue Mountains right on Sydney’s doorstep. After your arrival into Katoomba, select from numerous mountain experiences before completing your epic transcontinental crossing at Sydney’s Central Station. (B,L)
