Day 1. Monday – Melbourne – King Island (D)
Fly into Melbourne where we transfer to Essendon Airport for our flight to King Island. This peaceful paradise greets us with beautiful beaches and world class produce including succulent beef, rich gourmet cheese and the freshest crayfish. King Island is sure to awaken all your senses. On arrival we are met by our local guide for a town tour of Currie, before checking-in to our hotel which is our home on King Island for the next 3 nights. This evening we dine at Bischoff’s Café, a locally owned and managed café who design their menu to incorporate many King Island products. 3 Night Stay: Island Breeze Motel, Currie

Day 2. Tuesday – King Island (B,MT,L,D)
Today takes us to the north of the island where we start by visiting Shag Lagoon, a premium birdwatching spot, home to many migratory birds, including the endangered Orange Bellied Parrot. We break in Quarantine Bay for morning tea from where we learn about the station, Whistler Point, Christmas Island and New Year Island. We learn all about the Shannon Wreck site at Yellow Rock River. Then we pay a visit to locals Tom and Anna Perry for a property tour to learn about beef production on King Island. From Paddock to Plate, we then enjoy lunch made on the property from products grown on their property. After lunch, we will continue North to Penny’s Lagoon & Martha Lavina Beach, considered one of the worlds best surf breaks. Disappointment Bay is anything but, on our way to Cape Wickham Lighthouse, the tallest in the southern hemisphere. We drive through Egg Lagoon on our way to King Island Dairy to learn about the dairy industry on King Island (and sneak in a quick tasting of their renowned cheeses). After dinner at Wild Harvest, the name says it all, we go down to the harbour to watch the local penguins making their way home for the night. After which we will do the same.
Day 3. Wednesday – King Island (B,MT,L,D)
On our way south today we will see where Kelp, one of King Island’s largest industries, is harvested and processed. We learn where it all began at Naracoopa and then visit the old Tungsten mine at Grassy. Learn the art of Kelp Craft with Betty at King Island Kelp Craft. Lunch will be served at the King Island Boat Club, home to magnificent ocean racing yachts. On our way to the intriguing Calcified Forest, we learn about King Island’s first settling family at Surprise Bay, followed by views of King Island’s spectacular rugged coastline, home to Australia’s worst peacetime maritime disaster. To consolidate all we have learned, we pay a visit to King Island Historical Society Museum. Our local guide joins us for our finale dinner, which is catered for by one of King Islands top chefs, a fitting farewell to our time in this gastronomic paradise.
Day 4. Thursday – King Island to Melbourne (B)
This morning we head to King Island Airport for our flight to Essendon Airport followed by our transfer to Tullamarine and our onward journey home.
