Day 1. Home – Norfolk Island
After your flight into Norfolk Island, transfer to your accommodation and unpack for the next seven nights of uniquely ‘Norfolk’ experiences. Enjoy a warm welcome tonight with an Island Progressive Dinner; a three course meal hosted by locals at different island homes. 7 nights Polynesian Motel and Apartments (D)
Day 2. Norfolk Island
Christian Brothers Cheese Company is a boutique dairy and cheese producer. This tour will take you through a local farm with beautiful ocean views. Meet the milk cows, try the milking machine, see the beehives and hear about producing the local honey. Tonight enjoy seasonal local produce at Castaway Restaurant, followed by the Wonderland by Night Show, set amongst a magical setting of Norfolk Pines and bushland, lit up like an enchanted forest. Day 3. Norfolk Island
This morning’s half day island tour will help orient you to the rich diversity of Norfolk. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and more, including the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches, golf course and Melanesian Chapel. This afternoon at Cyclorama, marvel at an amazing, unusual attraction displaying one of only a handful of paintings of this type in the world. Tonight, dine at the Hilli Restaurant and Café. (B,D)
Day 4. Norfolk Island
This morning experience the Convict Settlement Tour—walk through the cemetery and hear the story of interesting convict and colonial headstones, hear stories of the houses along Quality Row, walk through the ruins of the New Gaol and see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill. Early evening, enjoy a typical island Fish Fry with island dishes. (B,D)
Day 5. Merry Christmas!
This morning there will be an opportunity to attend church if you choose, or enjoy a relaxing morning at our hotel. Later, indulge in a festive lunch and celebrate your island Christmas with friends. This afternoon, enjoy some free time to relax in the pool, or stroll through town for some window shopping. Tonight finish your day with a light dinner at our motel. (B,L,D)
Day 6. Norfolk Island
The Breakfast Bush Walk is an enticing BBQ Brekkie on the spectacular headland overlooking Anson Bay. After lunch, we’ll visit a small hobby farm which has been instrumental in improving the local livestock industry, and see a demonstration at the Cottage Pottery Shop. Later, visit one of the island’s largest Banyan trees, followed by Sweeties to learn how chocolate is made on Norfolk. Tonight, dinner and entertainment is provided by the Fletchers Christian Descendants of the Bounty Mutineers. (B,L,D)
Day 7. Norfolk Island
This morning we join the Greenfinger Tour, featuring some of the island’s beautiful gardens. Our local historian will give a talk on the area with a history dating back to 1788. This afternoon, learn about the history of the Pitcairners and their descendents on one of the few remaining original settlers’ properties. Visit a blacksmith’s forge, the original homestead, a WWII Army Hut and Museum of memorabilia. This evening, the fun of local history continues, with convict outfits supplied for Night as a Convict. Dressed as a convict, you’ll join the Commandant and Officers for a night of fun, gaiety, feasting and entertainment. (B,D)
Day 8. Norfolk Island – Home
Bid farewell to our friendly hosts and board your flight back home, refreshed and full of unique Norfolk Island memories. On arrival and after clearing customs, your transfers will be arranged. (B)
