Day 1. Depart Brisbane to Norfolk Island

Departing from your home port today, you will arrive on Norfolk Island. On arrival you will be met by our local tour operator – Pinetree Tours and transferred to Castaway Motel which will be your home for the duration of the tour. We then enjoy a welcome fruit punch on arrival before checking in to your rooms and our dinner this evening at our motel. 7 nights Castaway Motel (D)

Day 2. Orientation Tour and Convict Settlement

The Half Day Orientation Tour is a must for every visitor. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. This afternoon we enjoy an in-depth tour of the historic Georgian Settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstones. Dinner tonight is at Barney Duffy’s. (B,D)

Day 3. Glass Bottom Boat & Wonderland By Night

Christian’s Glass Bottom Boat today with a wonderful view beautiful coral gardens and tropical fish inside the calm crystal waters of Norfolk’s lagoon. Then enjoy a BBQ Dinner at a scenic spot on Norfolk Island. Following dinner we view the Wonderland by Night. The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines and bushland lit up like an enchanted forest. Meander along (or ride in the ‘moon buggy’) a gentle winding path whilst a descendant of one of the Bounty mutineers recites poetry written by local poet Archie Bigg. The dioramas are lit up and the setting is magical. Afterwards enjoy a light supper. (B,D)

Day 4. Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama & Island Fish Fry

Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama is an unforgettable experience. This is one of only a handful of paintings of this type in the world and is based on an art form made popular in the 1800s. Walk inside the circular painting and be surrounded by the immense artwork. A spectacular 3D effect is achieved in this painting with its detailed artwork and realistic perspective and the story that traces the history of the Bounty leaving England through Tahiti, Pitcairn Island and arrival at Norfolk Island in 1856. Late this afternoon enjoy a feast of island dishes, salads, homemade bread and fresh fried fish, followed by island desserts and tea or coffee. Enjoy some local entertainment on our exclusive private property ‘Orn Daa Cliff’ on Norfolk’s western coastline. (B,D)

Day 5. Bush Brekky & Progressive Dinner

This morning take a stroll through One Hundred Acres Reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to Captain Cook Monument. If you prefer not to rise early and bush walk you’ll be picked up a little later and taken to join the walkers at Anson Bay as they return from their walk and where you’ll all enjoy a delicious breakfast barbecue on the clifftop. The rest of the day is at leisure. Tonight we enjoy a 3-course meal progressing to different Norfolk Island family homes. A fun night and a great way to meet the local people and sample some of the island dishes. (B,D)

Day 6. Anson Bay & Behind the Hedges

Travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm, which has been instrumental in improving our local livestock industry. Close by see a demonstration at Norfolk’s major pottery and browse at the Cottage Pottery shop. After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, visit a beautiful private and commercial garden that supplies our local florists with stock. Finish the tour with a visit to a beautiful Banyan tree on a private property. This afternoon is at leisure. Dinner tonight at Paradise Hotel & Resort. (B,MT,D)

Day 7. Colleen McCullough’s ‘Out Yenna’ / Night as a Convict

Colleen McCullough, the world renowned author of 24 books, called Norfolk Island home for almost 36 years. Today you will visit her beloved property ‘Out Yenna’. You are escorted through her magnificent home and given a glimpse into the life of a modern day literary icon. If you have read her amazing books, you will love the experience of sharing the world of Colleen McCullough, author of ‘Tim’, ‘The Thornbirds’ and ‘Morgan’s Run’. Tonight we enjoy a ‘Night as a Convict’. Dress as a convict and join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing and dancing. Great food and great fun. (B,D)

Day 8. Depart Norfolk Island for Brisbane

Unfortunately all good things come to an end and following breakfast, will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
