DAY 1. BRISBANE to Hervey Bay (MT,L,D)
Board one of our signature ‘Gold Class’ coaches at Brisbane Coach Terminal on Roma Street, sit back and relax as we make our way to the Fraser Coast. We break near the Glass House Mountains, for a unique farm experience and stunning views. Meet and greet with the cuddly camels, all while you enjoy a delicious morning tea and camel milk tasting session. We continue onto Maryborough for lunch before we collect our local Maryborough Storyteller for a city sights tour of the amazing heritage buildings. Next, we drive a short distance to the coastal township of Hervey Bay to check-in to our hotel situated on the Urangan Marina. DAY 2. BUNDABERG (B,MT,L,D)
Today we discover the town of Bundaberg, arriving at the Bundaberg Botanical Gardens for a cuppa before heading to the Hinkler Hall of Aviation. This interactive museum tells the story of the all-too-short life of Australian pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler. Become part of Bert’s story through glide and flight simulators, movie theatrettes, six display aircraft and a vintage motor vehicle. We take a short trip from Bundaberg, stopping along the way at the Hummock lookout, before continuing to the coast to enjoy lunch at the quaint Windmill Café. From here, make our way to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery for a guided tour. After you have spent some time exploring the museum, join a distillery guide on a journey deep into the heart of the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. Once you have experienced the sights and smells of the distillery, you will return to the Bundaberg Rum Tasting Bar, where you can sample some of the top shelf rums.
DAY 3. FRASER ISLAND (B,L,D)
We are off to Fraser Island – paradise! The island has rainforests, eucalyptus woodland, mangrove forests, wallum and peat swamps, sand dunes and coastal heaths. Our guided tour will tell tales of the tribes that occupied the paradise of Fraser Island at least 5000 years ago. As we discover the world’s largest sand island, our off-road adventure takes us tackling inland bumps and humps through towering Satinay trees, followed by a boardwalk through majestic beauty of nature as rainforests and rare plant life surround the area. We unearth shipwrecks and sheltered bays and take plenty of time to stop and enjoy the view. We also stop off at picturesque Lake McKenzie taking time here for a swim in the water which shines sapphire blue, surrounded with shores of snow-white sand. Late afternoon, we board the ferry back to the mainland and return to our hotel. **Please note: 4WD tour is not suitable for passengers with back and/or neck injury due to certain parts of the track being rugged and jerky.
Day 4. Hervey Bay (B,L,D)
Merry Christmas! This morning we gather for a light breakfast and special Fun Over Fifty Christmas message. We gather later for transfers to our special Christmas Day lunch venue offering lovely views overlooking the pier. Enjoy a long lunch of celebrations feasting on fresh local seafood and traditional fare. Dinner this evening will be a relaxed affair serving up a light cold cuts dinner via a catering service to our hotel. **Please note: There are no restaurants available for dinner tonight, so we will gather in the function room where we will graze off platters.
DAY 5. HERVEY BAY (B,L,D)
Enjoy leisurely breakfast before boarding the coach, and making our way to the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, where we get up close and personal with Australian native wildlife. Be greeted by Sally the little Corella, and take a walk through the sanctuary to see genuine Australian fauna. Our afternoon takes us back to the bay taking time at Reefworld Aquarium Hervey Bay. Home to many different marine life, you will delight in taking a stroll around and exploring the beauty that is displayed in the feature tanks where these ocean animals reside. Get hands on and participate in feeding the marine life as the Green Sea Turtles, Sharks and large reef fish are all fed daily.
DAY 6. BRISBANE (B,L)
Take some time this morning, for a little lie in or walk along the marina. We relax over one last breakfast before check-out and departure. Board the ‘Gold Class’ coach and depart Hervey Bay, stopping in Gympie for a leg stretch and cuppa. As we make our way toward Brisbane, we stop to enjoy a surprise farewell long lunch. Sit back and enjoy a two-course sumptuous meal while spending time with new friends. Back on the road and homeward bound, we arrive at the Brisbane Coach Terminal at approximately 4.30pm.

• Get on and off transportation multiple times unaided
• Manage your own luggage
