DAY 1 – Depart Brisbane, Bangalow, Yamba
Depart from Brisbane today and travel down the coast stopping at Cabarita Beach for a tasty lunch overlooking the beautiful azure Ocean. We continue on through to Bangalow stopping for afternoon tea and time to stroll the main street of this historical town before arriving at Yamba. After check in, we will enjoy dinner this evening at one of the local clubs. 3 nights Yamba Sun Motel L,A/T,D)
DAY 2 – Clarence River Cruise
Today we board our ferry traveling first to the seaside village of Iluka. We continue travelling down the beautiful Clarence River enjoying a guided commentary about the history and local flora and fauna. We enjoy a delicious lunch while on board and learn of the pioneering history of Harwood. The crushing mill is the oldest surviving mill in Australia. We then visit some sites around the Yamba Village before dinner tonight at your own arrangements. (B,L)
DAY 3 – Maclean, Brooms Head, Angourie
Breakfast, then we travel down the highway to the picturesque village of Brooms Head stopping for morning tea and soaking up the panoramic views. Next stop is Maclean, known as the “Scottish Town of Australia". Many of its street signs are written in Gaelic as well as English. We view Australia’s oldest free Presbyterian Church and see the large Scottish cairn constructed from rocks from around Australia and Scotland in the Herb Stanford Memorial Park. We enjoy lunch and then travel on to Angourie which was declared a National Surfing Reserve in 2007 and has a mixture of surfie shacks alongside palatial homes, an interesting place to explore. This afternoon we travel back to our accommodation with time to freshen up before dinner this evening. (B,MT,L,D)
DAY 4 – Evans Head, Woodburn, Byron Bay
Following breakfast this morning we will depart for Evans Head following the river with it’s colourful fishing trawlers and pelicans. We stop for morning tea and then travel on through Woodburn and onward to Byron Bay stopping to enjoy some lunch in town. We arrive into Brisbane late this afternoon. (B,MT,L)
