DAY 1 – HOME PORT TO HOBART

On arrival in Hobart you will be met by your friendly local host/Coach Captain at the airport and enjoy a city sights tour from the comfort of your coach. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight getting to know your fellow travellers. 2 nights: Hobart Balmoral Motor Inn Hobart (D). If arranging your own flights please arrive into Hobart prior to 1.30pm.

DAY 2 – PORT ARTHUR

Today we make our way to Port Arthur. We take a cruise the Harbour and tour of the Isle of the Dead, Port Arthur’s island burial ground. We then return to the mainland for a guided walk and hear about the history of this penal colony. Departing Port Arthur we return to Hobart stopping at the Blowhole, Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen enroute. (B,D)

DAY 3 – DERWENT BRIDGE, QUEENSTOWN, WALL IN THE WILDERNESS

This morning we depart Hobart and visit New Norfolk and Derwent Bridge where we see the amazing Wall in the Wilderness. The beautifully carved works set out in sculpture depict the people in the Central Highlands. We continue on to Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park and area home to spectacular lakes and mountain areas. From the pristine beauty of the National Park we make our way onto Queenstown. This is a journey quite like no other as you make the steep descent, the scenery changes from luscious greenery to a moon like landscape. 2 nights: West Coast Motel Queenstown (B,L,D)

DAY 4 – GORDON RIVER CRUISE STRAHAN

Today we visit Strahan to enjoy a Gordon River Cruise. The cruise will take us through the Heritage-listed South West Wilderness National Park and the beautiful Gordon River and includes a delicious onboard buffet luncheon. (B,L,D)

DAY 5 – CRADLE MOUNTAIN, STANLEY

Today we travel to the world renowned Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain. The park is one of the state’s most special places. We will be met by our local guide and travel by coach through the area before making our way to Stanley, a town of perfectly preserved colonial buildings and genteel cafes all sheltering in the imposing shadow of the ‘Nut’. Overnight: Stanley Seaview Inn (B,L,D)

DAY 6 – NORTH WEST COAST, LAUNCESTON

Devonport today and then onto Sheffield ,a town of 34 painted murals. For those of you chocolate lovers today you will have a chance to enjoy some at the House of Anvers – Belgium Chocolate Heaven! For those of you with a more savoury taste, you won’t miss out either as we will travel on to visit Ashgrove Cheese before continuing on to Launceston. Overnight Launceston Commodore Regent (B,D)

DAY 7 – LAUNCESTON, CATARACT GORGE, TAMAR RIVER CRUISE

This morning we will explore the city of Launceston, including a stop at the Waverley Woollen Mills and Grindelwald. This little village is a great spot to grab those last minute souvenirs. We then enjoy a Tamar River Cruise. We cruise along Launceston’s riverfront precinct and north past Tamar Island viewing the historical buildings, St Matthias Church and Rosevears Pub. We enjoy a tasty afternoon tea and watch the scenery change from vineyards and farms as we pass through Rosevears and Windermere districts. Overnight: Commodore Regent Launceston (B,D)

DAY 8 – Beauty Point, Batman Bridge, Legerwood, St Helens

Travelling to Beauty Point this morning we arrive at Platypus House for a visit. Then making our way over the famous Batman A Frame Bridge, we continue on to Leaning Church Winery and enjoy our lunch. We make our way to Legerwood to visit the amazing Carved Memorial Trees. The trees are sculpted into World War One soldiers to honour their memory. Then arriving into St Helens. Overnight: Tidal Waters St Helens (B,L,D)

DAY 9 – BICHENO, FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK, COLES BAY

This morning we depart for Bicheno, the jewel of the East Coast. Also included in this day of discovery is Tasmania’s first national park, Freycinet and its also the most spectacular. Once there, you will be mesmerised by the park’s spectacular cliff-top lookouts and especially the iconic Wineglass Bay. Following lunch at the beautiful Coles Bay, we make our way to Cape Tourville for the spectacular ocean views and the Lighthouse. Overnight: Bicheno Best Western Beachfront (B,D)

DAY 10 – SWANSEA, RICHMOND ARRIVE HOBART

Today we continue to make our way to Triabunna – a scenic port-side town and the gateway to the natural wonders. The town sits at the doorstep of some of Tasmania’s most beautiful places. We visit the Tasmanian Seafarers Memorial which provides an insight into the area’s maritime past. We then continue on to Richmond. The Richmond Bridge, was built by convicts in the 1820s and is Australia’s oldest known large stone arch bridge. Overnight IBIS Styles (B,D)

DAY 11 – SALAMANCA MARKETS, END OF TOUR

This morning we visit the famous Salamanca Markets. Enjoy the sights, sounds, flavours, action and colour of Australia’s best outdoor market. Late morning, we then make our way to the airport to meet your flight. If arranging your own flights please book to depart from 1.30pm onwards. Extra nights in Hobart available arranged upon request.
