DAY 1 – Arrive Darwin (D)
Arrive in Darwin where we begin our adventure into Australia’s Kakadu and Kimberley regions. This evening we dine out, enjoying a sumptuous seafood buffet whilst admiring the sunset over Darwin Harbour. 1 Night Stay: Mindil Beach Casino & Resort, Darwin. **Bonus!! DAY 2 – Kakadu National Park, Ubirr (B,L,D)
Journey into World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park, where the landscape spans over 19,000sq km abundant of flora, fauna, dreamtime connections and stunning vistas. We traverse the Magela floodplains and pass spectacular escarpments to arrive at the Aboriginal rock art site of Ubirr. Our indigenous guide takes us through the natural stone galleries giving an insight into the culture associated with these intriguing works of art. *Please note: Strict Level 3 active fitness level required today. 2 Night Stay: Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel, Jabiru
DAY 3 – Kakadu National Park (B,L,D)
Take a birds eye view on a 30-minute scenic flight over the Archway, Arnhem land escarpments and Magela floodplains. In Jabiru we visit the Bowali Visitor Centre and the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre before embarking on a Yellow Water wetlands cruise. Our guide will point out the species of abundant birdlife such as brolga, jabiru and masses of magpie geese. Buffalo and brumbies roam the area and it’s Crocodylus central with an estimated four crocodiles per 100sqm.
DAY 4 – Katherine (B,L,D)
From Kakadu, we travel to Pine Creek breaking at the unique Lazy Lizard Tavern which is constructed from termite mound mud bricks. Our afternoon takes us to the picturesque and refreshing Edith Falls before finishing our day at Katherine. 1 Night Stay: Ibis Styles, Katherine
DAY 5 – Katherine Gorge Cruise, Kununurra (B,L,D)
Enjoy a guided gorge cruise on the tranquil calm green waters of the Katherine River taking in some of the park’s 13 gorges. We then venture west along the Victoria Highway, stopping for lunch at Victoria River Crossing, before moving into the East Kimberley region. From here we continue on, breaking at Timber Creek then cross the WA border into Kununurra. 2 Night Stay: Kimberley Grande Resort, Kununurra
DAY 6 – Katherine Gorge Cruise, Kununurra (B,L,D)
An awe-inspiring day today as we begin with a breathtaking scenic flight over Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungle Range and the Argyle Diamond Mine. Following this we cruise the famous Ord River with its majestic appeal, rugged landscapes and plentiful wildlife before returning through Durack country to Kununurra.
DAY 7 – Chamberlain Gorge Cruise, Home Valley Station (B,L,D)
Leaving Kununurra we make tracks for a cruise of Chamberlain Gorge. Only accessible by boat, this 3 km fresh waterhole is bound by diverse flora and fauna, and belittled by a towering escarpment. There’s breathtaking scenery as well as cheeky Archerfish and Barramundi to be fed before we continue on the iconic Gibb River Road to arrive at Home Valley Station. Once a working cattle station, this 248,934 hectare outback oasis welcomes you to Australia’s last frontier. 2 Night Stay: Home Valley Station
DAY 8 – Home Valley Station (B,L,D)
Home Valley Station is brimming with natural attractions and the day is yours to do as you please. Enjoy a hike on one of the many walking tracks; discover waterfalls, billabongs, fishing spots and ancient landforms in this outback adventure playground. Later we gather together and settle in with drinks and nibbles to watch the sun fade to the west whilst our guide provides commentary on the local landscape. Watch as the evening colours bring the Cockburn Range to life in shades of brilliant burnt reds, pinks and purples.
DAY 9 – Halls Creek (B,L,D)
Leaving the station behind we travel the Great Northern Highway and parallel the Durack Range to Halls Creek on the northern edge of the Great Sandy and Tanami Deserts, and the site of Western Australia’s first gold discovery. 1 Night Stay: Halls Creek Motel
DAY 10 – Fitzroy Crossing, Danggu Geikie Gorge Cruise (B,L,D)
This morning we travel through the open grasslands of the cattle stations to Fitzroy Crossing. We take time for lunch at the Fitzroy River Lodge, stretch our legs and then continue on to Danggu Geikie Gorge to take a cruise on the Fitzroy River. Witness the spectacular geography of the area, freshwater crocodiles and abundant birdlife, and gain insight into the Kimberley region’s rich indigenous history and culture. 1 Night Stay: Fitzroy River Lodge, Fitzroy Crossing
DAY 11 – Derby, Broome (B,L,D)
Heading west we arrive at the township of Derby, the first town settled in the Kimberley, and home of the Boab Tree. We break for lunch here before continuing on to Broome, affectionally known as the ‘pearl of the north’. 2 Night Stay: Oaks Resort, Broome
DAY 12 – Willie Creek Pearl Farm, Cable Beach (B)
We visit Willie Creek Pearl Farm to discover how the Australian South Sea Cultured Pearl is produced, followed by a visit to the Pearl Luggers Museum and Broome Cemetery. This afternoon we take a camel safari ride along famous Cable Beach. **Please note: 95kg weight restrictions apply to camel ride.
DAY 13 – Flights Home
Enjoy breakfast at your leisure before being transferred to the airport where we say our goodbyes and take our respective flights home.
