Day 1. Thu 22 Dec 2011: The Sunlander

Depart today at 1.25pm on The Sunlander train merrily making your way to Cairns. 

Day 2. Fri 23 Dec 2011: Arrive Cairns

Arrive in Cairns, welcoming dinner at Hides Hotel before a visit to the night markets. (D)

Day 3. Sat 24 Dec 2011: Cairns & surrounds

Start the day with breakfast on the hotel Queenslander-style verandah. Bus tour including Lake Barrine, Curtin Fig Tree, the Waterfalls Circuit & Rainforests, Paronella Park and wildlife. Lunch. (B,MT,L,AT,D)

Day 4. Sun 25 Dec 2011: Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Start the day with a Continental breakfast on the veranda, later we will make our way to the Cairns Reef Casino Banquet Room for a beautiful Christmas luncheon with all the trimmings including 2½ hrs of drinks. Free time in the afternoon with friends. Dinner tonight (B,L,D)

Day 5. Mon 26 Dec 2011: Kuranda & Sunset Cruise

After breakfast we travel by either Skyrail Cable Car or Scenice Rail to Kuranda. Visit the markets and have lunch. Enjoy a Cairns City Sights bus tour followed by a Sunset Cruise on Trinity Inlet. (B,L,D)

Day 6. Tue 27 Dec 2011: The Sunlander, Airlie Beach

After breakfast, check out of Hides Hotel & transfer for The Sunlander Train journey to Proserpine. Transfer to Club Crocodile Airlie Beach Resort. (B)

Day 7. Wed 28 Dec 2011: Island Cruise

Full hot and cold buffet breakfast. Enjoy a Two Island day cruise adventure on Daydream & Long Islands. Activities and 'island style' lunch. Dinner tonight at Resort. (B,L,D)

Day 8. Thu 29 Dec 2011: River Cruise, The Sunlander

Full hot and cold breakfast. Cruise to beautiful Hamilton Island for a conducted tour of the island. Lunch is at the Whitsunday Sailing Club. Return to the resort in the afternoon. Dinner tonight at the Resort before your transfer to rail station for The Sunlander train departure home. (B,MT,L,D)

Day 9. Fri 30 Dec 2011: Arrive Brisbane

Arrive Roma Street Station, Brisbane at 3.55pm with wonderful memories and new found friends.
