DAY 1. Depart to Singapore (Meals In-Flight,D)
Depart on Singapore Airlines morning flight from Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney Airport to Singapore Changi International Airport. After clearing Singapore immigration and customs, we will be greeted with a welcome from our English speaking guide. We board the coach and transfer to our luxury hotel located in the heart of Singapore, checking-in to stylish classic harbour view rooms with panoramic views of Marina Bay. DAY 2. Singapore Touring (B,L,D)
Today we explore the many iconic sights of Singapore Civic District. We stop at Merlion Park and enjoy the impressive views of Merlion overlooking Marina Bay, before taking in the National Gallery of Singapore, which displays the largest collection of Southeast Asian art. We take a ride on the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest giant observation Ferris wheel to enjoy views of Singapore and beyond. Immerse in the local culture as we visit Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples. After lunch we visit UNESCO Heritage Site – the National Orchid Garden, boasting a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. Tonight, we gather for a dinner in a local restaurant, followed by a bumboat cruise on the Singapore River, stopping at Marina Bay to watch Southeast Asia’s largest light and water show.
DAY 3. Garden Touring (B,L,D)
Our tour today is for the garden lover! We take in SkyPark that soars 200 metres from the ground and links at the top offering a 360 degree view of the the city’s skyline and contains lush gardens, observatory, infinity pool and the world’s largest cantilevered space. We then visit the world’s top award-winning garden and floral designers at the Singapore Garden Festival, showcasing exquisite gardens and floral designs. After lunch, discover a world of wonders at Gardens by the Bay, featuring more than 500,000 plants from over 2,200 species. At Cloud Forest, explore the highlands amidst orchids, pitcher plants and ferns, then experience the 7 garden discovery zones, the Lost World, Cloud Walk, Crystal Mountain, just to name a few.
DAY 4. Jurong Bird Park & more (B,L,D)
Today we visit Jurong Bird Park, home to 8,000 birds and 600 species. We take a tram ride visiting the African Waterfall Aviary, the spectacular Penguin Expedition and High Flyer Show at the Pools Amphitheatre. After lunch with the Parrots, we return to the hotel for free time. Tonight we visit Chinatown taking a trishaw ride through the alleyways to Chinatown, stopping to visit Yong Gallery. We have dinner at a local restaurant and afterwards, take time to wander the Night Market and test your bartering skills with street vendors selling anything from souvenirs to leather goods.
DAY 5. Culture and History Day (B,High-Tea)
Our tour today explores Singapore’s World War history. Visiting Changi Chapel & Museum, our guide will recount stories of collective spirits that rose through the darkest times of World War II. A drive takes us through rustic and laid-back Changi Village and Tampines New Town. Soak in the rich cultural heritage of Sultan’s Palace before spending time where Sir Stamford Raffles is believed to have first stepped ashore in 1819. View an art exhibition that traces the history of the Singapore River before arriving at Raffles Hotel to enjoy classic high tea. We return to our hotel for the evening at leisure. **Please note: Lunch and dinner own expense today
DAY 6. History and nature (B,L,D)
Continuing on the World War history trail, we travel to the north of Singapore to reflect and pay our respects at Krangi War Memorial and visit Bright Hill Temple to marvel at the architecture of the largest Buddhist temple in Singapore. This afternoon we take a River Safari – a river themed zoo and aquarium consisting of eight rivers from the Mississippi to the Yangtze, with an opportunity to see rare river giants and mega fish. The Giant Panda Forest offers an opportunity to see Kai Kai and Jia Jia. Next we take in Singapore Zoo to explore and engage with a variety of animals in naturalistic ‘open’ exhibits. Tonight at Night Safari Park we weave through replicated natural habitats of the Himalayan Foothills, Southeast Asian Rainforest and Indian Subcontinent from the comfort of our exclusively chartered tram. Dinner is enjoyed in the wildly exotic Tipi Tents, as the mystery and drama of the tropical jungle comes to life after dusk with an array of nocturnal animals. We complete the evening at the Creatures of the Night Show.
DAY 7. Sentosa Island B,L,D)
Today we explore Sentosa Island by boarding the Singapore Cable Car Sky Network, travelling across Keppel Harbour to Sentosa Island. Here we visit Madame Tussauds wax museum then continue on to the iconic Sentosa guardian of prosperity, the legendary Merlion. Our lunch is an ‘under the sea’ dining experience watching the manta rays and underwater marine life swim by in the open ocean habitat. This afternoon, we visit an Aquarium to explore the marine home of more than 100,000 sea creatures of over 800 species. Dinner on Sentosa Island, followed by taking priority reserved seating at the Wings of Time water and laser show.
DAY 8. Cooking School, Flights Home (B,L Meals In-Flight)
Today we gather mid-morning and make our way to the Food Playground cooking school to learn about Singaporean food heritage, culture and how to cook authentic home-style dishes. As part of this culinary experience, our created dishes will be enjoyed as a group for lunch. This afternoon returning to the hotel, a late room check-out has been arranged to 6pm. Spend this time at leisure or enjoy some last minute shopping! Late afternoon we transfer by coach to Singapore Changi International Airport in time for airline check-in. Depart on Singapore Airlines evening flights, homeward bound to our respective airports.
DAY 9. Arrive Home (Meals in-flight)
Arrive to Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney International Airport early morning.
