DAY 3 – Kuranda Scenic Railway, Kuranda, Mareeba

Following breakfast we board the Kuranda Scenic Railway that makes its journey into the mountain range. Construction of the Cairns Kuranda Railway was, and still is, an engineering feat of tremendous magnitude. Arriving in colourful and quirky Kuranda enjoy time to wander through the markets before we meet our coach and travel through to the Australian Coffee Plantation. After enjoying a coffee and lunch, we tour the plantation before returning to Cairns. Overnight Cairns Queenslander (B,L,D)

DAY 4 – Mossman Gorge, Daintree River Cruise, Port Douglas

Today we adventure into the Mossman Gorge. The Gorge has a very accessible and scenic section of the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. Here the Mossman River tumbles its way over and around huge granite boulders that line the gorge creating cool clear freshwater swimming holes. We then make our way to the Daintree River for a River Cruise spotting crocs and other wildlife. Then into Port Douglas with time to explore the town before returning to Cairns. Overnight Cairns Queenslander (B,MT,D)

DAY 5 – Paronella Park, Great Green Way

This morning we depart Cairns and make our way south to Innisfail where we enjoy a town tour from the comfort of our coach. We then arrive at Paronella Park. Everyone has a dream but not everyone’s dreams are fulfilled. José Paronella’s dream was to build a castle. He chose a special part of Australia and created Paronella Park. On 5 Hectares beside Mena Creek Falls he built his castle, picnic area by the falls, tennis courts, bridges, a tunnel, and wrapped it up in an amazing range of 7,500 tropical plants and trees, now a lush rainforest. Opened to the public in 1935, it now is a ‘must see’ when visiting the area. We will tour through the Castle Ruins in the rainforest, then enjoy lunch before departing for the drive along the Great Green Way to Mission Beach. We arrive and check into our accommodation and enjoy dinner this evening. Overnight Mission Beach Resort (B,L,D)

DAY 6 – Mission Beach Discovery, Chocolate Farm

Following breakfast we depart for Charley’s Chocolate Farm. If you love chocolate this is a ‘must do’. Charley’s Chocolate is unique in Australia and one of only a few places in the world where you can experience the whole journey of chocolate from “Tree to Bar”. The tour is fun, very much ‘hands on’ and hugely informative. We enjoy lunch at Charley’s and then make our way to Mission Beach township for a stroll then on to Clump Point Lookout for fantastic views along the tropical coastline, before making our way to Bingil Bay. The beach here is very picturesque with fringing coconut trees, and is also considered by many, to be one of the the prettiest beach fronts in the region. Overnight Mission Beach Resort (B,L,D)

DAY 7 – Tully Giant Boot, Depart for Brisbane

This morning we depart by coach to Tully where you can have your photo taken next to the Giant Gumboot. Tully is known as one of the wettest places in Australia with an average annual rainfall of 4.1 metres. Tully holds the Australian record for the highest annual rainfall and in 1950 Tully received 7.9 metres of rain. Climb the gumboot’s internal staircase for great views of Tully, Mount Tyson and the Sugar Mill. We then meet the Spirit of Queensland for our relaxing journey home.
