DAY 1: SUNDAY OR WEDNESDAY – The Ghan

Join The Ghan, settle into the comforts of this great train. Enjoy lunch in the Restaurant Car as you travel north towards Spencer Gulf and Port Augusta. (LD)

DAY 2: MONDAY OR THURSDAY – Outback and Alice Springs

After arriving in Alice Springs you’ll have time to enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour† before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey north overnight. (BLD)

DAY 3: TUESDAY OR FRIDAY – Katherine and Darwin

In the morning you arrive in Katherine, here you can join a Whistle Stop Tour† at Katherine Gorge. Hop back on board for your journey north through the lush, Top End countryside before arriving in Darwin. Transfer to the Holiday Inn Esplanade, your base for the next 3 nights. (BL)

DAY 4: WEDNESDAY OR SATURDAY – Darwin

The morning is free for you to relax in this warm and cosmopolitan city before joining your city sights tour in the afternoon for the perfect overview of Darwin. See the Chinese Temple, the lush Botanical Gardens, East Point Military Precinct and the Stokes Hill Wharf area. (B)

DAY 5: THURSDAY OR SUNDAY – Darwin and Jumping Crocodiles

Again you’ll have the morning free. This afternoon it’s time for a real treat – the famous Adelaide River Jumping Crocodile Cruise. You’ll see these prehistoric creatures at close range as your guide entices the crocodiles to leap out of the water right next to the boat! Then it’s on to the Window on the Wetlands Visitors Centre for views over the Marrakai Plains and Fogg Dam Nature Reserve. (B)

DAY 6: FRIDAY OR MONDAY – Darwin

After breakfast check out of your hotel. (B)
