Day 1. Fri: Byron Bay
Board The Southern Spirit in Brisbane and begin your journey southward. Experience a Whistle Stop Tour to the small coastal village of Byron Bay, the most easterly point of the Australian mainland. See the laid back atmosphere, pristine beaches and take your time to enjoy the Main Street on your own. Rejoin The Southern Spirit in Casino. (LD)
Day 2. Sat: Port Macquarie
Today, enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour in the historic town of Port Macquarie. Take the opportunity to explore this peaceful town surrounded by green fields and grazing cattle. Experience New South Wales’ mid north coast on your way south while enjoying a delicious three course meal in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant with new found friends. (BLD)
Day 3. Sun: Hunter Valley
Start the day with breakfast on board as you travel to the scenic Hunter Valley, one of Australia’s premier wine areas. Join your Whistle Stop Tour and experience the tastes of the region as you explore the many highlights. Day 4. Mon: Dubbo
Contemplate the changing landscapes passing by on the path less travelled as you continue towards Dubbo, nestled in the heart of New South Wales. Here, enjoy the chance to experience a Whistle Stop Tour to Taronga Western Plains Zoo, one of the world’s finest open range sanctuaries and a vital link in national and international programs for rare and endangered species. Day 5. Tue: Albury-Wodonga and Melbourne
Continuing southward along The Great Dividing Range, the day’s first stop is the twin cities of Albury-Wodonga on the Murray River. Enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour before rejoining The Southern Spirit and proceeding on to Melbourne to allow those guests ending their journey to disembark.
