Day 1 (Thu) – PERTH
Make your own way to Mecure Perth, your acommodation for the next three nights. You may choose to spend the afternoon relaxing in the comfort of your hotel room. For those curious about what Perth has to offer, you could visit Kings Park for spectacular views of the skyline or alternatively make your way to Barrack Street Jetty and reserve a spot on a dinner cruise.
Day 2 (Fri) – SWAN VALLEY
Join a unique small group tour and spend the morning visiting the Swan Valley’s most delicious locations. Enjoy in excess of twenty five tasting experiences at ten locations throughout the region. Visit many boutique local producers to sample coffee, honey, chocolate and nuts – just to name a few. Some free time this afternoon allows you to further explore the wonderful city of Perth. Perhaps make your way to Fremantle and wander through the museums and galleries, enjoy the live music or join the thriving coffee culture at one of the many cafes. (B)
Day 3 (Sat) – MARGARET RIVER
Travel south today and head towards the iconic Busselton Jetty, the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere. Indulge in a lunch of local Margaret River produce, accompanied by beer and cider tastings at one of Margaret River’s oldest breweries. Explore Mammoth Cave on a guided tour before passing through the stunning Boranup Forest and be awestruck at the size of the massive Karri trees. Visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, the dividing point between the Southern and Indian Oceans. As you travel back towards Margaret River make a brief stop in the township with some free time to stroll the main street. Enroute to Perth there’s a short stop with an opportunity to purchase dinner. (B,L)
Day 4 (Sun) – INDIAN PACIFIC, PERTH AND KALGOORLIE
This morning, you will be transferred to the East Perth Rail Terminal, for your journey on the Indian Pacific. The afternoon is yours to relax, socialise and get acquainted with the novelty of rail travel. Relax, and settle into the comforts of your cabin, before enjoying dinner in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant. This evening, you will have the opportunity to undertake an Off Train Excursion, to see the gold mining town of Kalgoorlie. (B,L,D)
Day 5 (Mon) – INDIAN PACIFIC, NULLARBOR
Upon waking, set your sights on the vast horizon beyond the window – you have arrived on the edges of the sweeping Nullarbor Plain. By the time you have freshened up and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, you’ll be stepping off the train for an Outback Experience in Cook. Get a sense of the Nullarbor’s extreme remoteness as you wander through Cook’s abandoned buildings. Once back onboard relax in the comfort of your cabin, or socialise with new found friends in the Outback Explorer Lounge. (B,L,D)
Day 6 (Tue) – INDIAN PACIFIC, ADELAIDE
Your adventure ends this morning as the train rolls into Adelaide.
