Merry Christmas! Enjoy a great value tour to the Bellingen Valley over the festive season...
Departing approximately 7.30am from Roma Street Brisbane, we travel south through the picturesque Tweed Valley. After morning tea at Plantation House we continue down the coast to Yamba for lunch, before making our way past Coffs Harbour to the beautiful and tranquil Bellingen Valley Lodge. Set on seven hectares of landscaped gardens, the lodge has magnificent views of the mountains and valley and is the ideal place for our Christmas getaway. (MT,L,D)
Our travels today take us to the historic ‘Mary Boulton Pioneer Cottage’ to discover antiques and memorabilia from the turn of the 20th century and enjoy morning tea in the gardens. Next we take in South West Rocks and the ruins of the Trial Bay Gaol. This piece of Australian history combines haunting tales with visually stunning scenery. For a change of pace we break for lunch in Taylors Arm at the well known ‘Pub with no Beer’. Enjoy a BBQ in this quirky venue with good old-fashioned hospitality. Our last stop for the day is the Honey Place at Urunga where we can taste the golden nectar and see the bees at work before heading back to our accommodation. (B,MT,L,D)
Merry Christmas! This morning we discover the Bellingen Valley and the breathtaking natural scenery in this area as we travel along the Waterfall Way to Dorrigo. Our first stop is Griffiths Lookout then we brave the ‘Skywalk’ at the Dorrigo National Park before returning to the Bellingen Valley Lodge in time to sit down to a Christmas Day buffet. Enjoy a sumptuous selection of traditional and seafood dishes and celebrate the festive day with your fellow passengers. This afternoon, take time to relax by exploring the beautifully landscaped gardens and taking a dip in the pool. Tonight a light dinner will be served. (B,L,D)
Today we make our way to Coffs Harbour for a visit to the Marine Magic Pet Porpoise Pool. This marine park provides an educational, enjoyable and above all ‘handson’experience, enabling you to connect with a variety of species of marine animals. You might even get the opportunity to be kissed by a seal or a dolphin! After a short tour of this beautiful coastal town we head for the iconic Big Banana. After lunch we enjoy an informative show about the banana industry before
we take time to roam the plantation and packing sheds. Return to the Bellingen Valley Lodge for dinner. (B,MT,L,D)
Saying farewell to the Bellingen Valley we travel north along the NSW Coast and head for home. We pass through Grafton, and then stop for morning tea in Maclean. Later we break for lunch in the green, lush surrounds of northern NSW before arriving back in Brisbane later in the afternoon. (B,MT,L)
