DAY 1 – Arrive Adelaide, Kangaroo Island (L,D)

Flights arrive in Adelaide where we make our way to Glenelg for lunch then take the scenic route to Cape Jervis to board the ferry to the pristine wilderness of Kangaroo Island and check-in to our scenic waterview rooms. 2 Night Stay: Aurora Ozone, Kingscote

DAY 2 – Kangaroo Island (B,L,D)

Take in the scenery as we drive to Seal Bay Conservation Park where Australian sea lions sunbathe and frolic on a stunning beach. We take a guided walk along the beach to get a close look at the sea lion colony, home to around 600 rare Australian Sea Lions, then visit Andermel Marron Farm and Two Wheeler Creek Wines for a marron lunch, wine tasting and tour of the farm. We then continue on the wildlife trail experiencing the Birds of Prey display at Raptor Domain, and an in-flight presentation featuring Australian eagles and hawks, before returning to Kingscote.

DAY 3 – Kangaroo Island, Hahndorf, Indian Pacific (B,L,D)

This morning we visit Rob’s shearing and sheepdogs, a truly authentic Australian experience. Watch Rob and his dogs skillfully muster and yard sheep, learn about farm life and see a sheep shearing demonstration. Boarding the ferry we leave Kangaroo Island and continue on to Victor Harbor for lunch before arriving in Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest German settlement and charming, quaint village. This evening we dine at the National Wine Centre prior to boarding the Indian Pacific for our journey to Perth. Enjoy Gold Service accommodation and dining on this journey which sees our first night taking us past the Flinders Ranges. 2 Night Stay: Indian Pacific in Gold Service

DAY 4 – Indian Pacific (B,L,D)

Heading west across the desolate Nullarbor, our first stop is at Cook, one of the world’s most remote outposts. Stopping at Rawlinna we are invited to disembark for a traditional outback lamb roast dinner under the wide Nullarbor skies.

DAY 5 – Arrive Perth (B,L,D)

We arrive in Perth at approximately 3:00pm to meet our coach captain and board our comfort plus coach to enjoy a city orientation tour en-route to our accommodation. 2 Night Stay: Pan Pacific, Perth

DAY 6 – Fremantle, Swan River Cruise, Kings Park (B,L,D)

Travelling to Fremantle we make a brief stop at Cottesloe to take in the beautiful surrounds of this seaside heritage town with its superb beach. Continue on to visit the busy port city of Fremantle where we board a replica ‘tram’ and listen to commentary as we discover the bustling harbour, beautifully preserved architecture, and the famed Cappuccino Strip. We then join Captain Cook Cruises for a leisurely lunch cruise discovering the delights of the Swan River as we return to Perth. Back on shore we stop at Kings Park Botanic Gardens before returning to our hotel.

DAY 7 – Busselton, Cape Naturalist and Canal Rocks, Margaret River (B,L,D)

Today we depart for the south west travelling to Margaret River, passing through Mandurah. We arrive at the coastal town of Busselton where we take the train from the shore along the Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, to the underwater observatory. Descending eight metres below sea level we view the diversity of marine life and marvel at the forests of vividly coloured sub tropical corals and sponges before returning to shore. After lunch we head out to Cape Naturalist, with the highlights being the Canal Rocks and small bays. Our last visit takes us to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory before checking-in to our hotel. 1 Night Stay: The Grange on Farrelly, Margaret River

DAY 8 – Boranup Karri Forest, Cape Leeuwin, Valley of the Giants, Albany (B,L,D)

Leaving Margaret River, we take a scenic drive through the lush, green and majestic Boranup Karri Forest where the tall palebarked karri trees, reaching heights of 50 metres or more, dominate the hilly slopes and valleys. Our next leg of our journey takes us via Augusta to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, where the Southern & Indian Oceans meet. From here we head est breaking at the Gloucester Tree Lookout, before stopping at Pemberton for lunch. Our afternoon takes us into the Valley of the Giants home to a forest of ancient, wide-girth tingle trees, which reach up to 5 metres in diameter. We then make our way to Albany, where we bed down for the night. 2 Night Stay: Dog Rock Hotel, Albany

DAY 9 (B,L,D)

Our Albany touring starts with a visit to The Gap and Natural Bridge. We visit the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial at Mt Clarence, a tribute to the ANZACS, then the National Anzac Centre. Learn stories of those who served our country, many departing from the Port of Albany to conflict in Gallipoli, the Middle East and the Western Front. After lunch we visit Mount Romance, the world’s largest distiller of sandalwood oil then move on to heritage-listed Discovery Bay and explore the Australian Wildlife and Botanic Gardens, meeting the local wombats, bandicoots, flying foxes and rare white kangaroos.

DAY 10 – Lake Grace, Hyden (B,L,D)

This morning sit back and enjoy the scenery as we head north out of the south west hinterland and into the wheat belt via the Stirling Ranges. Stop at the grain growing town of Lake Grace for lunch, before heading to Hyden, home of Wave Rock. This 27 million year old magnificent, prehistoric rock formation is one of Western Australia’s most treasured natural attractions. This remote region only offers budget accommodation. 2 Night Stay: Wave Rock Hotel, Hyden

DAY 11 – The Humps, Wave Rock, Hyden (B,L,D)

Our first stop takes us to The Humps, a huge granite outcrop and the site of one of WA’s most significant examples of Aboriginal Rock Art. Here you can see over 450 separate hand prints and images that have been painted onto the easily accessible Mulka’s Cave. After lunch at the Wave Rock Wildflower Shop, spend some time exploring The Lace Place Museum, Toy Soldier Museum and Wave Rock Wildlife Park before returning to the hotel.

DAY 12 – Wandilla Farm Homestead, York, Cervantes (B,L,D)

Today we visit historic Wandilla Farm Homestead, built in 1948 with bricks handmade by Italian prisoners of war and now home to a vintage car collection. We depart Hyden via Kulin and the famous Tin Horse Highway. This drive is definitely a laughing matter, showcasing a hilarious collection of clever community art. Heading north west towards the coast we stop at York, Western Australia’s oldest settlement. We then continue our journey travelling the wildflower trail until we arrive at the seaside town of Cervantes. 1 Night Stay: Pinnacles Edge Resort, Cervantes

DAY 13 – Pinnacles, Bindoon, Perth (B,L,D)

An early morning journey to the mystical Pinnacles Desert in Namburg National Park is a good time to view these limestone pillars. We also visit New Norcia, a true escape from the everyday. Here we soak up the peace and view the magnificent buildings of Australia’s only monastic town established by a Spanish Benedictine Monk. Stopping at Bindoon enroute for a light lunch, we make our way to Perth for some free time and our final night together enjoying fine food and entertainment. 1 Night Stay: Pan Pacific Hotel, Perth

DAY 14 – Flights home (B)

An early breakfast before being transferred to the airport for our respective flights home.
