DAY 1 – Board Spirit of Queensland

Depart for your overnight journey on the Spirit of Queensland train in either RailBeds with all meals included, plus pamper pack with the evening bed turndown, or Premium Economy seats. The train is scheduled to depart at 3.45pm. (All meals on the train for RailBed passengers)

DAY 2 – Arrive Cairns

This morning you will wake for breakfast on the Spirit of Queensland (RailBed passengers). The train will pass through Townsville and then make its way along the picturesque Cassowary Coast, arriving in Cairns mid afternoon. You will be met by our friendly tour host and transferred to Cairns Queenslander for the next 2 nights. Enjoy dinner this evening at the hotel. Overnight Cairns Queenslander (D)

DAY 3 – Paronella Park

Today’s adventure takes us to Paronella Park – a magical and unforgettable place nestled amongst heritage gardens and 13 acres of lush tropical rainforest. We will tour through the Castle Ruins, then enjoy lunch before a coach tour of Innisfail township and arrive back into Cairns in time for dinner. Overnight Cairns Queenslander (B,L,D)

DAY 4 – Cairns Botanic Gardens, Pacific Eden Cruise

Following breakfast we make our way to Cairns Botanic Gardens, renowned for having one of the best tropical plant exhibitions in Australia. Here we also enjoy a guided walk through the lush flora. This evening we embark on our 7 night adventure aboard the P&O Pacific Eden to the magnificent PNG Coral Sea Islands. After settling into your cabin, enjoy exploring this wonderful vessel and discover all the onboard activities and lots of other exciting things to do. Overnight Pacific Eden (B,D)

Day 5 – Cruising the Pacific

Following last night’s fun filled evening of eating and indulging in the odd drink or two, you can take a day to sit back, relax and enjoy the very special views of the Coral Sea. Enjoy lunch with your new found friends in one of the many cafés on board. Have a dip in the pool or just catch up on some reading in your comfortable cabin. The choice is yours. DAY 6 – Alotau

Alotau, the capital of Papua New Guinea’s Milne Bay Province, is steeped in history, rich in culture and blessed with natural beauty. Its is also the gateway to some of the most remote island communities remaining in the world today. The area claims its fame in the history books where the Battle of Milne Bay took place in 1942 and an Australian digger was awarded a Victoria Cross for bravery. Put these two elements together and add a beautiful harbour, relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals, and you are left with a pretty amazing destination. Overnight Pacific Eden (B,L,D)

DAY 7 – TROBRIAND ISLANDS, Kitava

Today we visit Kitava – a small island off the main Trobiand Island of Kiriwina. Here life remains as it was thousands of years ago with very little external influence. The landing site is surrounded by stunning white sand beaches lined with natural shade-trees, just offshore lies the picture perfect sand atoll Nuratu Island. Truly a slice of Eden. DAY 8 – Kiriwina Island

Here on Kiriwina Island, one of the world’s most intact island cultures resides on one of the world’s most untouched islands, and you are among the select few who are lucky enough to experience them. Overnight Pacific Eden (B,L,D)

DAYS 9/10 – Conflict Islands

Don’t be fooled by the name, this is paradise in the Coral Sea! A picturesque group of 21 islands surrounding a bright blue lagoon, the Conflict Islands are home to one of the world’s most biodiverse reef systems. Guests can make the most of the island paradise taking part in a glass bottom boat or outrigger canoe tours. Overnight Pacific Eden (B,L,D)

DAY 11 – Disembark, Skyrail Cable Way, Kuranda Village, Kuranda Scenic Railway

Arriving in Cairns this morning, we sadly say good by to the Pacific Eden and its wonderful crew who will no doubt have made this cruise an unforgettable one. We are met by our coach and board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway that glides up and over the rainforest below. Arriving in colourful and quirky Kuranda you will have time to wander through the village and markets. We will then make our back to Cairns on the Kuranda Scenic Railway. This is a spectacular journey with unsurpassed views of dense rainforest, ravines and picturesque waterfalls. Overnight Cairns Queenslander (B,D)

DAY 12 – Free Day in Cairns

A free day to discover Cairns City at your leisure There are lots of things to do such as visit the Esplanade, Cairns Central Shopping Mall, or the Reef Casino for a flutter. You might have friends or family in Cairns, so this is the perfect time to catch up. Meet back at our hotel for dinner this evening. Overnight Cairns Queenslander (B,D)

DAY 13 – Board Spirit of Queensland

Following breakfast we depart by coach to meet the Spirit of Queensland for our relaxing journey home. (B, All meals on the train for RailBed passengers)

DAY 14 – Arrive Brisbane

Today you will arrive at your home station after enjoying a charming rail journey from Far North Queensland.
