Flights arrive into Darwin Airport where we are met by our Coach Captain for the start of a ten day adventure of Australia’s Kimberley region. We take an orientation tour of Darwin en-route to The Frontier Darwin, for a two night stay. (D)
Today we enjoy some of the sights of Darwin and its surrounds. We start with an informative guided cruise on the Corroboree Billabong and Mary River Flood Plain before returning to the city for sightseeing. We spend the evening enjoying an indulgent seafood buffet whilst the sun sets on Darwin Harbour. (B,L,D)
This morning we head south along the Stuart Highway travelling through the town of Adelaide River and stopping for morning tea. We continue on through Pine Creek to Edith Falls for lunch. Our afternoon takes us to Nitmiluk National Park for a guided Gorge Cruise on the Katherine River. We overnight at Knotts Crossing Resort, Katherine. (B,MT,L,D)
Heading west along the Victoria Highway, we pass over Victoria River Crossing and travel into the East Kimberley region. We continue on through Timber Creek, cross the W.A. border and arrive at the Lake Argyle Resort Hotel for lunch. From the dam wall we cruise the famous Ord River with expert commentary of the region. We take in the sunset over the Carr Boyd Ranges before docking at Lake Kununurra and checking in to our accommodation at Kununurra Lakeside Resort for 2 nights. (B,MT,L,D)
An early start this morning as we arrive at Kununurra Airport for a flight over majestic Lake Argyle. Fly over world heritage listed Bungle Bungle Range, then over the Argyle Diamond Mine before returning to Kununurra airport for a day trip to Wyndham. We climb the Bastion Range which rises 330 metres above sea level with stunning views of the Five Rivers and the Cambridge Gulf. We visit the historic Wyndham Port before lunching at the Wyndham Hotel. We head back to Kununurra Lakeside Resort via the Zebra Rock Gallery, a unique rock pattern found only in this area. (B,L,D)
Today we take in a ground tour of the Argyle Diamond Mine. The mine is the world’s largest supplier of naturally coloured diamonds and home of the famous and rare Pink Diamond. After lunch we parallel the Durack Range to the Kimberley Hotel at Halls Creek for an overnight stay. (B,L,D)
We hit the Great Northern Highway this morning through the open grasslands of the cattle stations to Fitzroy Crossing. We lunch at the Fitzroy River Lodge, stretch our legs and then continue out to Geikie Gorge on the Fitzroy River. View the freshwater crocodiles and the abundant bird life before heading back to our accommodation at the Fitzroy River Lodge. (B,L,D)
Today we head west to the township of Derby, home of the Boab Tree and the first town settled in the Kimberley. We continue west along the Great Northern Highway stopping for lunch at the Willare Bridge Roadhouse before arriving in Broome and checking-in to The Oaks for a 2 night stay. (B,L,D)
This morning we call in at Willie Creek Pearl Farm for an informative talk and a guided boat tour of the oyster beds. Later in the afternoon we head to Cable Beach for a Sunset Camel Ride before returning to The Oaks for dinner. (B,L,D)
Our last day is spent with a leisurely breakfast before we are transferred to the airport where we say our goodbyes and make our way to our respective flights home. A sensational tour that has left no stone unturned and includes absolutely everything. (B)
