DAY 1: Sunday or Wednesday - Join The Ghan in Adelaide to Alice Springs

After boarding at Adelaide Parklands Rail Terminal, your first day on The Ghan begins with a light lunch in the Restaurant Car as you travel North towards Spencer Gulf and Port Augusta. (LD)

DAY 2: Monday or Thursday - Alice Springs

After arriving in Alice Springs you’ll have time to look around town or enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour before reboarding the train and enjoying the desert scenery as you continue your journey North overnight. (BLD)

DAY 3: Tuesday or Friday - Katherine and Darwin

In the morning you arrive in Katherine with around 4 hours to enjoy a spectacular Whistle Stop Tour at Katherine Gorge. Then it’s time to hop back on board for your journey North through the lush Top End countryside before arriving in Darwin and checking in to the Holiday Inn Darwin for the next four nights. (BL)

DAY 4: Wednesday or Saturday - Darwin

The morning is all yours to relax in this warm and cosmopolitan city before joining your city sights tour in the afternoon for the perfect overview of Darwin, with expert commentary by a local guide. See the Chinese Temple, the lush Botanical Gardens, East Point Military Precinct, the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the Mooring Basin. You’ll even have time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

DAY 5: Thursday or Sunday - Darwin

Again you’ll have the morning free to shop, relax or just look around, but in the afternoon it’s time for a real treat – the famous Jumping Crocodiles Cruise. You’ll see these prehistoric creatures at close range as your guide entices the crocodiles to leap out of the water right next to the boat! Then it’s on to the Window on the Wetlands Visitors Centre for views over the Marrakai Plains and Fogg Dam Nature Reserve, before returning to Darwin for your final night.

DAY 6: Friday or Monday - Darwin

DAY 7: Saturday or Tuesday - Darwin

This fantastic little holiday package ends when you check out of your hotel this morning.
