![]() Day 1. Mon: Homeport to Adelaide & Barossa ValleyFly into Adelaide early afternoon where are met by our local guide boasting 20 years experience in tourism, with outback tours playing a major role. We start with a city tour of Adelaide before heading north into the Barossa Valley for our first night staying at the Weintal Resort. (D) Day 2. Tue: Flinders Ranges & Rawnsely Park StationAfter breakfast we continue North through the rural towns of Spalding and Willington once given the name ‘Beautiful Valley’. The landscape changes from hills to mountains as we travel through onto Quorn for lunch at the Historic Austral Hotel. The first hotel built in Quorn when the town was surveyed in 1878 and recently restored to a grand old lady. After lunch we travel north to the town of Hawker and to the southern end of the Flinders Ranges where we make our way to Rawnsley Park Station for our second overnight stay. Rawnsley Park Station is owned by forth generation locals and they offer authentic outback hospitality in modern accommodation. Watch in awe as the sky turns red as it sets over Wilpena Pound. (BLD) Day 3. Wed: Scenic Flight over Wilpena PoundAfter breakfast we make our way to the airstrip for a scenic flight over Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Rangers National Park. After this eventful flight we travel through the National Park and on to Parachilna to the ‘Pub with Character’ the Prairie Hotel Take time to stretch the legs after lunch before we continue further into the Flinders Ranges through Leigh Creek, Lyndhurst and on to Marree for a two night stay at the ‘Marree Motel’. The accommodation is basic Motel style with ensuites, but it is the best place to stay for local knowledge and friendly hospitality. (BLD) Day 4. Thu: Lake Eyre Scenic Flight, MarreeThe scenic flight today is what we have been travelling for. An early breakfast and out to the airstrip for a fly over the Lake Eyre National Park and Cooper Creek. Enjoy the spectacle of what this land and the rarity of water in this area have to offer as we embrace this once in a lifetime chance. On the return from our memorable flight, we board the coach and head along the Birdsville Track where we break for lunch at the famous Cooper Creek, the second longest river system in Australia. We return by the same route to Marree for our second night stay. (BLD) Day 5. Fri: Clare ValleyAfter breakfast we start heading south through the coal mining town of Leigh Creek, east of the Gammon Ranges National Park and travelling through Parachilna and onto Hawker for a break before we head inland to Cradock, Carrieton and onto Orroroo for lunch. Again the Orroroo Hotel has been renovated to accommodate the ever increasing visitors to the area. We head south through the rural and historic town of Jamestown which is situated on the main train line between Perth and Sydney and into the Clare Valley which is one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, best known for Riesling wines. The region has about 40 wineries. We stay our last night at the Clare Valley Motel. (BLD) Day 6. Sat: Return homeThis morning we enjoy the sights of the Clare Valley before we head through the Adelaide Hills to Adelaide airport for our flight home. (B) Prices and Dates
