Day 1. Wed 22 Dec: Brisbane to MaryboroughCoach departs Roma Street Brisbane for the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, travelling through Landsborough before stopping at Montville. We descend from the hinterland via Mapleton and on to Dingo Creek Winery at Traveston. Enjoy a fine BBQ lunch and formal wine tasting while taking in the views overlooking the majestic Mount Cooroora. We continue through Gympie and arrive at the Fraser Coast region for a 4 night stay at the Quality Carriers Arms Motel, Maryborough.(LD) Day 2. Thu 23 Dec: Mary River CruiseThis morning is Market Day! Join in the merriment of buskers and local market stalls in the main street. We then board the `Proud Mary’ for a cruise on the Mary River with a commentary on the maritime history of the Mary River. We then join `Mary Heritage’ for a historic city sights tour. This afternoon we take the scenic loop via Howard, Burrum Heads and Hervey Bay’s esplanade precinct. Tonight spend Christmas celebrations with Alfie for dinner and show. (BMTLD) Day 3. Fri 24 Dec: Bundaberg, Christmas lightsToday takes us to the Coral Coast visiting the sugar cane town of Bundaberg. A spooky start, where we take a guided tour of the Mystery Craters, and then continue on past the Bundaberg Rum Distillery, the Ginger Beer Factory and on to Bargara for a picnic by the bay. Our afternoon takes us home via the township of Childers. Tonight we join `Mary Christmas’ to tour the fabulous display of Maryborough’s Christmas lights by night. (BLD) Day 4. Sat 25 Dec: Merry ChristmasMerry Christmas! A festive breakfast together before we depart for the marina to board the fast cat to Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island to enjoy our Christmas Day festive feast of traditional and seafood cuisine. Tonight a light dinner will be supplied (in your motel room fridge) and we will all gather and meet around the pool to enjoy the rest of Christmas Day celebrations. (BLD) Day 5. Sun 26 Dec: Return to BrisbaneWe slowly head for home this morning stopping at the Duck Ponds, Gympie, for a short break then onto Yandina’s Ginger Factory, for a guided tour, lunch and an opportunity to taste and purchase ginger in all its different forms. We finish our day by returning to Roma Street, Brisbane. (BL)
