Hotel: Mercure, Auckland. (D) Day 2. Auckland - RotoruaSee Auckland on our City Sights tour. Tracing the Waikato River we travel to Waitomo Caves to tour the amazing Glow Worm Grotto and the limestone caves. At Rotorua, we'll take in views of Lake Rotorua and more on our orientation tour. Tonight enjoy a Maori Hangi feast and concert for an insight into Maori culture. Hotel: Ibis, Rotorua, 2 nights. (B HD) Day 3. RotoruaWe'll watch the Agrodome Sheep Show, complete with sheep dog demonstration then the afternoon is yours. Our option tonight is The Realm of Tãne, a journey through Maori mythology and our story of creation. (B) Day 4. Rotorua - WellingtonHeading south, we'll view the Huka Falls. Visit Taupo. Drive along the shores of New Zealand's biggest lake, through the alpine scenery of Mt. Ruapehu. Tongariro National Park and the dairy farms of Manawatu. Then it's along the Kapiti Coast to Wellington for a City Sights tour. Hotel: Mercure Wellington Willis Street, Wellington. (BD) Day 5. Wellington - PictonA morning of 'Free Time' in Wellington, then we visit Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand. Photos at Parliament House. Then we cruise Queen Charlotte Sound. Later we travel to the seaside village of Picton for an orientation tour. Hotel: Beachcomber, Picton. (BD) Day 6. Picton - ChristchurchEn route to Christchurch, we'll get up close and personal with some New Zealand fur seals at Ohau Point, watch whales at Kaikoura, (optional scenic Whale Watching flight), travel along the rugged Pacific Ocean coast, across the patchwork Canterbury Plains. A city tour of Christchurch is followed by 'Free Time'. Hotel: Ibis, Christchurch. B Day 7. Mt. CookAfter a morning at leisure travel over the patchwork countryside of the Canterbury Plains, where the spectacular sightseeing begins. Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki are first up. Next we'll visit the Church of the Good Shepherd before soaking up the sensational alpine landscape of Mt. Cook National Park (optional scenic flight). Hotel: Heritage Gateway Hotel, Omarama. (BD) Day 8. DunedinOur day starts along the Waitaki River with the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme and Benmore Dam. We travel through Oamaru with its famous white limestone buildings to Dunedin, where we tour the city. Then you've got the afternoon to yourself - take a Wildlife Cruise, visit the Cadbury Chocolate Factory or ride the historic Taieri Gorge Railway. Hotel: Kingsgate Hotel, Dunedin. (BD) Day 9. Dunedin - Te AnauAfter a morning of time to yourself, during which you might like to tour New Zealand's Larnach Castle, we head off across South Otago's fertile, sheep-filled farming land en route to Te Anau, on the shores of the largest lake in the South Island. Tonight you may choose to travel by boat to the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves. Hotel: Kingsgate Hotel, Te Anau. (BD) Day 10. Milford SoundYou'll be awe-struck by great sights from Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound, where you will cruise on the waters of this natural wonder. Along the way to Queenstown, we'll see Mirror Lakes, Claudu Valley, The Chasm, Mitre Peak, Bowen Falls, travel along the Devil's Staircase and the shores of Lake Wakatipu. At Queenstown we'll have an orientation tour on arrival and enjoy an alpine dinner with views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables. Hotel: Mercure Queenstown Resort, Queenstown, 2 nights. (B) Day 11. Queenstown 'Free Time'Explore exciting Queenstown your way, all day - from wine and garden tours to jet boat rides and white water rafting. A delicious buffet at the Skyline Restaurant on Bob's Peak is your spectacular dining option. Access is via the steepest Gondola in the Southern Hemisphere. Optional Kiwi Haka Maori Show post-dinner. (B) Day 12. Fox GlacierFirst stop, Arrowtown, on the Arrow River. Second stop Cromwell and its sensational stone fruit. Then it's a trio of lakes - Lake Dunstan, Lake Hawea, Lake Wanaka. Through the Haast Pass, we view Thunder Creek Falls and enjoy a rainforest walk. Final stop, majestic Fox Glacier - a rare, still advancing glacier. Take the opportunity for an optional scenic flight over the glacier. Hotel: Fox Glacier Hotel, Fox Glacier. (BD) Day 13. ChristchurchWe visit Hokitika, home of the native greenstone (jade), for a factory visit and jewellery demonstration first up. We travel through Greymouth, the largest town on the West Coast, to experience the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes at Punakaiki, before heading back to Christchurch. Hotel: Ibis, Christchurch. (BD) Day 14. Depart ChristchurchToday is yours, take your time exploring Christchurch - the Garden City - famous for its gardens and being the most English city outside of England. See Hagley Park and the Canterbury Museum - just make the most of it - it's your last chance to experience New Zealand before we transfer you to Christchurch Airport for your onward flight. Terms and ConditionsBookings and Conditions To confirm your reservation, a deposit of $200 per person is required. Reservations will be held for 7 days only without deposit. All airfares are subject to strict ticketing deadlines, to be advised at the time of booking. Balance of payment for your holiday is to be paid 42 days prior to departure. The operator reserves the right to accept waitlist clients in place of applicants failing to finalise within the prescribed time. Prices and Concessions Children 15 years of age and under are entitled to the child price on 1/2 day and 1 day sightseeing tours as well as on short break/independent tours that include overnight accommodation (tent/hotel) when sharing with at least one adult (unless stipulated otherwise). Escorted touring: Children 6-15 years, are entitled to the child price off the adult coach content price plus relevant air, rail or sea price (unless stipulated otherwise). Concession Card Holders: Prices apply to all Australian and New Zealand pensioners (refer to each price box for discount amount) however discounted rail or boat prices are only available where Australian Centrelink Pensioner Card is produced. 'Seniors Card' holders are also eligible for the concession discounts on any price for a tour operated solely by AAT Kings. Solo Travellers Triple Rooms Cancellations and Amendments Cancellation fees will be levied relative to the amount of notice given: Days Notice 42 or more 7-41 days 1-6 days Day of Departure Modification to a confirmed booking may incur a $55 per person amendment fee. Airfares: Tickets are issued on your airfares on receipt of full payment. Once ticketed, these airfares are non-refundable as per airline conditions. Any amendments to these flights may incur a fee. General Conditions DEPARTURE GUARANTEE How to book 1. At the time of booking, you must pay to your travel agent a non-refundable deposit of $200 per person per holiday which must be received by AAT Kings within 7 days. This payment is in addition to any deposit required by your travel agent. 2. Once your deposit has been received, AAT Kings will send your travel agent confirmation of the details of the booking. 3. You must pay the balance of your holiday fare to AAT Kings through your travel agent not less than 42 days before the departure date, or within 72 hours of booking if less than 42 days but more than 8 days prior to departure, or at the time of booking if less than 7 days before departure. 4. We will then send to your travel agent your travel vouchers and detailed information about your holiday. Important By paying the $200 deposit per person per holiday to your travel agent, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted the Booking Conditions as set out on the inside back cover, which make up the contract between you and AAT Kings.
