Day 1 - Monday

Arrive in Launceston to visit the historic Woolmers Estate for an informative guided tour of this beautiful 1830's style mansion. We also take a self-guided tour of the out buildings and National Rose Garden before heading for our accommodation at Tamar Valley Resort.

Day 2 - Tuesday

Today we explore Grindlewald Swiss Village, before travelling to Brady's Lookout, for panoramic views of the Tamar Valley. We then make our way through the gold mining town of Beaconsfield to Beauty Point to visit the only Sea Horse Farm or alternatively Platypus House. After lunch we visit the Legerwood Carvings before travelling to the East Tamar via the unique A frame Batman Bridge. We then travel down through Wellsborough Pass to the seaside village of Bicheno. Tonight we enjoy a guided tour of a fairy penguin colony. Overnight Bicheno Beachfront Motel.

Day 3 - Wednesday

This morning visit East Coast Nature World and meet the Tasmanian Devil. We then travel into the midlands stopping at Campbell Town to view the convict trail and then head into the national trust classified town of Ross. Marvel at the convict style buildings and unique sandstone buildings before heading to the historical town of Richmond, renown for its many craft galleries. View the spire of Australia's oldest Catholic Church from beneath the arches of the oldest stone bridge in Australia. Cross the Derwent River to Hobart. Overnight Fountainside Motel.

Day 4 - Thursday

Today we visit the Huon Valley for a guided walk among the treetops at the Tahune Airwalk. After lunch we head back to Hobart visiting the Huon Valley Apple and Heritage Museum. Here we also enjoy the Starving Artist and Apple Blossoms Gift Shop. Overnight Hobart.

Day 5 - Friday

Today is our visit to the infamous penal settlement of Port Arthur stopping along the way at the nostalgic collection of trash & treasure at the Copping Colonial Museum. At Port Arthur join a guided tour and learn how hundreds of convicts lived, worked and died under threats of the lash. Take a guided tour across Carnarvon Harbour and around the Isle of The Dead. Time permitting we may visit some natural rock formations on the south east coastline at Eagle Hawk Neck. Overnight Hobart.

Day 6 - Saturday

Market Day! Stroll through Salamanca Place to explore the colourful stalls at the famous openair markets. Departing Hobart we follow the Derwent Valley through hop fields to historic New Norfolk, continuing on through Hamilton to visit historic Glen Clyde House, the Hydro Electric village of Tarraleah. Take a short rain forest walk in the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers N.P. to Nelson Waterfalls. Making our way further west to the copper mining town of Queenstown for a 2 night stay at the Chancellor Inn West Coaster.

Day 7 - Sunday

This morning we head to Strahan to cruise the mighty Gordon River in reserved premium seating. Pass infamous Sarah Island and step ashore at Heritage Landing and see the 2000 year old Huon Pine. Voyage on through Hells Gates before enjoying a delicious smorgasbord lunch on board. This afternoon ride the West Coast Wilderness railway discovering the inspiring story of the pioneers who built the railway more than 100 years ago. Overnight Chancellor Inn West Coaster.

Day 8 - Monday

This morning we travel to Cradle Mountain N.P. for a guided tour of pioneer Gustav Weindorffer's Chalet and Dove Lake at the foot of Cradle Mountain. Our lunch stop today is at the Cradle Mountain Chateau where we also inspect the Wilderness and Landscape Photograph Gallery. We then continue on through Sheffield, the town of murals before heading to our overnight accommodation at Devonport. Overnight Gateway Inn, Devonport.

Day 9 - Tuesday

This morning we visit Stanley at the Nut and then travel east along the coastal scenic route via Table Cape, Wynyard, Burnie & Penguin. Along this route we travel through deer and tulip farms in some of Australia's richest agricultural country.  We then travel to Ashgrove Cheese for a presentation and tasting. After checking-in to our Motel, wander across the road to City Park to view the Japanese monkeys.

Day 10 - Wednesday

We start our last day together with a visit to the Cataract Gorge with its cliff-side gardens, peacocks, Alexandra Suspension Bridge and Rhododendron Gardens. Here we take a ride on the world's longest single span chair lift. Enjoy a light lunch overlooking the gardens before heading to the airport where we bid farewell to our delightful Coach Captain and board our scheduled flight home.

TOUR CONDITIONS; Fun over 50 arrange tours on the conditions that they are not liable for any damage, injury or loss which may occur due to accident, delay, irregularity or defect of any vehicle, vessel or accommodation.

TOUR ITINERARY; Is a guide only and although Fun over 50 will make every reasonable effort to adhere to the program, we reserve the right
to make any alterations as necessary. The operation of this tour is subject to minimum loading.

LUGGAGE; Should not exceed one medium suitcase per person not exceeding 20kg. We also recommend a day bag for use aboard the coach.
