Day 1: Sat - Launceston, Seahorse World, Beaconsfield, Welcome Drinks

Travel north from Launceston to Beauty Point. Visit Seahorse World and learn about these fascinating aquatic animals. Afterwards visit the country town of Beaconsfield and take a tour of the Mine and Heritage Centre. Spend some time learning about the history of this site and have some fun with its interactive displays. On the trip back to the hotel, you’ll see and learn about the city sights of Launceston through informative onboard commentary. This evening, mingle with your fellow travellers and Travelmarvel crew at Welcome Drinks. Afterwards enjoy a Welcome Dinner featuring fresh Tasmanian produce. Day 2: Sun - Weldborough Pass, East Coast Natureworld, Freycinet National Park, Swansea

This morning, drive through the scenic wine producing area of northern Tasmania. During flowering season, visit the Bridestowe Lavender Farm (Dec.-Jan.). Traverse the lush Weldborough Pass and stop at East Coast Natureworld. Here meet Delilah the Tasmanian Devil and other native animals. Travel along beautiful Tasmanian coastline and into Freycinet National Park. Join a guided walk along Richardsons Beach. Afterwards travel to the seaside town of Swansea, where tonight you may choose to upgrade your dinner and indulge in a Tasmanian crayfish feast. Contact us for further details. Day 3: Mon - Ross, Richmond, Tasman Peninsula, Eaglehawk Neck, Port Arthur

Journey inland to the historic townships of Campbell Town and Ross. Travel south to the charming Georgian village of Richmond and see the famous Richmond Bridge. Proceed to Eaglehawk Neck and enjoy views of the rugged coastline from Pirates Bay Lookout. Continue on to historic Port Arthur for the night. Stay: Port Arthur, Fox and Hounds Inn (BD)

Day 4: Tue - Port Arthur Historic Site, Harbour Cruise, Hobart, Mt Nelson

Port Arthur is Australia’s most notorious convict prison, having been called ‘hell on earth’ by its 12,500 convict prisoners. Go back in time and play the interactive ‘Lottery of Life’ game, a unique way to trace the life of a convict. Then take a guided tour through the ruins of the site. Afterwards join the Marana for a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. More than 2,000 people who died during convict times are buried here. This afternoon travel to Hobart, situated on the shores of the Derwent River. Day 5: Wed - Hobart Sightseeing Tour, Time at Leisure to Explore the City

After breakfast, join your guide for an orientation tour of Hobart. See the city highlights including Salamanca Place. Today you will have time to explore this historical city for yourself. You may wish to join a full day tour to pristine Bruny Island or take a tour to Cascade Brewery to learn about the art of brewing premium beer. Alternatively, cruise down the beautiful Derwent River on a Cadbury chocolate cruise or winery adventure. Tonight you may wish to join a ghost tour of Hobart. Your Tour Director can help with booking these experiences while on tour (own expense). (B)

Bruny Island Experience
Travelmarvel guests are given the option to forgo the orientation tour in Hobart to visit the spectacular Bruny Island. Travel to Adventure Bay and board an award-winning eco-cruise that will take you for a thrilling journey along Bruny Island’s rugged coast. Escorted by knowledgeable guides, watch for the natural wildlife - Australian Fur Seals and albatrosses, and perhaps dolphins and whales. This is truly an adventure not to be missed. Day 6: Thur - Derwent Valley, Mt Field National Park, Lake St Clair, Strahan

After breakfast, leave Hobart and travel to Mt Field National Park for a short nature walk to beautiful Russell Falls. Then enter World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and enjoy a stop on the shores of Lake St Clair. This afternoon perhaps choose to board an historic and scenic train journey into Tasmania’s pioneering past on the rugged West Coast Wilderness Railway, Contact Us for details. Otherwise travel by coach through Tasmania’s World Heritage-listed wilderness to the township of Strahan, on Macquarie Harbour. After dinner tonight, perhaps see a local pantomime ‘The Ship that Never Was’ based on Tasmania’s convict history (own expense). Stay: Strahan Village Hilltop (BD)

Day 7: Fri - Strahan, Gordon River Cruise with Lunch, Sarah Island Tour

This morning board the luxury cruise vessel, Lady Jane Franklin II, for a unique cruising experience that will take you across the tranquil Macquarie Harbour and along Gordon River. Cruise to Sarah Island through Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park and stop at Heritage Landing where you will tour the convict site. Pass by the entrance to the Great Southern Ocean, known as Hell’s Gate, and enjoy lunch on board before returning to Strahan. Re-board the coach and depart the west coast for the pristine wilderness of Cradle Mountain. Stay: Cradle Mountain Chateau - luxury in the wilderness (BLD)

Day 8: Sat - Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake, Sheffield, Stanley and The Nut

Tour beautiful Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, home to a vast array of native alpine flora and fauna. Travel out to Waldheim Chalet and stop on the tranquil shores of Dove Lake. Later, travel via Sheffield, the town of murals, to the fishing village of Stanley, set in the shadow of The Nut - a striking rocky outcrop rising over 137 metres from the sea. Arrive in Tasmania’s north-west town of Smithton in the late afternoon. Day 9: Sun - Ashgrove Cheese Factory, Great Lakes Plateau, Farewell Dinner

Visit the renowned Ashgrove Cheese Factory to learn about the art of cheese-making and sample some cheeses. Head to the Great Lakes Plateau and travel along the shores of the Great Lake, a popular spot for freshwater fishing. Continue to Launceston for your Farewell Drinks and Dinner. Day 10: Mon - Cataract Gorge, Tamar River Cruise, Woolmers Estate, Depart Launceston

Visit Cataract Gorge on the edge of Launceston and wander the magnificent gardens. After this, join a morning cruise along the Tamar River. This afternoon travel to Woolmers Estate and wander through the National Rose Garden before rejoining the coach for an airport transfer. (B)

Terms and Conditions

This general information relates to Australian Pacific Touring Pty. Ltd., herein after referred to as 'The Company'.

Fares, Booking Confirmations
A $200 deposit per person, per tour is required at time of booking. The balance of any airfares is required within seven days of booking. Where connecting air, rail or boat travel is included, confirm correct fare at time of paying balance. If booking is made within 42 days of departure, full payment is required at time of booking.

Stated duration counts day of departure and day of return. Twin share prices are per person unless otherwise stated. The Company reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking or refuse to carry any passenger where payment has not been received by The Company within the specified time.

Discounts: Only one discount option in the brochure may be claimed. Please ask at the time of booking. Group concessions for 10 or more adults are available on application. Past passenger discounts are not applicable for groups of 10 adults or more.
Children under 15: When sharing with one adult 15% off adult coach fare plus relevant child rail/air/boat fare. Children under 7 years of age are not recommended to participate in an escorted coach tour. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.Concession fares: Apply to Australian and New Zealand pensioners and Australian Seniors Card Holders. Refer to fare tables for relevant discounts.
For tours including rail or boat travel, relevant concessions only available where Australian Department of Social Security Concession Card is produced. Further discount may apply to free rail pass holder.

Cancellation Policy
Notice (days) - 42 days or more - % fee of fare - lose booking confirmation

Notice (days) - 16-41days - % fee of fare - lose 20%

Notice (days) - 1-15 days - % fee of fare - lose 50%

If tour has commenced, no refund of fare or unused portion.

Indemnities
The involvement of airlines, rail, boat or any other relevant operator is as air, rail, sea and road carriers only. They shall not be responsible for statements in this publication relating to the transport arrangements.
The Company shall indemnify these operators against any claim action, loss or damage arising therefrom.

Luggage Limit
Each passenger is entitled to take one case, the sum of its length, width and depth not to exceed 160 cm (63 inches), weight limit 20 kilos (44 lbs.) Airlines permit only 1 cabin bag per person, in which personal items such as cameras, make-up etc. should be carried. Over-limit luggage cannot be carried. Baggage is at 'owners risk'.

Important Information Exclusion of Liability
1. Whilst The Company will take all reasonable steps to provide an enjoyable tour, it accepts no liability for any loss of enjoyment experienced by passengers due to circumstances beyond its control.
The Company further accepts no liability for any loss beyond its reasonable control and provides no warranties in addition to those set out under the Trade Practices Act 1974, and nothing herein restricts any passenger from exercising their rights and remedies pursuant to law.
2. Your travel agent will forward booking confirmations and other payments to us on your behalf, but your travel agent is not our agent for the purpose of receipt of monies. Receipt of booking confirmations and subsequent payments by the travel agent does not constitute receipt of those monies by us and the travel agent has no authority expressed or implied to receive monies on our behalf. There is no liability on the part of The Company in respect to any monies paid to the passenger's travel agent unless and until The Company notifies the passenger (by way of a booking confirmation advice or payment receipt advice) that monies have been received by The Company.
3. The optional tour excursions are not operated by or at the direction or on behalf of The Company or its employees or agents or any other persons or companies associated with The Company. By taking bookings for these tours, The Company acts as each optional tour operator's agent.
4. These tours include the services of operators other than The Company e.g. hoteliers, airlines and optional tour excursions, which are not under the direct control of The Company, and whilst The Company takes all reasonable care in selecting these operators, it cannot accept responsibility for those operators' conduct or the conduct of their representative employees or agents or for any ramifications of that conduct.
5. On tours including activities such as trekking, swimming and snorkelling, passengers accept that degrees of risk are involved.
6. No passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on tour while their mental or physical condition is, in the opinion of any representative of The Company, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or whereby they become objectionable to other passengers, or they become a hazard to themselves or other passengers. The Company will not be responsible for expenses resulting in such persons being precluded from completing the tour.

Amendment Fees
A charge of $25 will apply to any addition or modification requested after the original booking has been confirmed.

Itineraries
Itineraries are subject to alteration without notice and intended as a guide only. Alterations may come about due to road, weather or tidal conditions, strikes, public holidays, local festivals or other reasons. Due to the nature of the terrain and remote areas, weather fluctuations can adversely affect road conditions which may necessitate alterations to itinerary with little or no notice. Any additional expense incurred by the passenger is not The Company's responsibility. The Company can give no guarantee as to the exact arrival and departure times for carriers and operators used by The Company in the tour and The Company will not be liable for failure to make connections with any other services or attractions beyond its control. 'Freedom of Choice Touring,' Dine Around Dinners" and 'Freedom of Choice Dining' are booked by the Tour Director whilst on tour. They are subject to availability, seasonal and operational factors. As is normally the case with group tours, a minimum number of bookings is required in order for a tour to be financially viable and to have a pleasant group atmosphere. In the event that adequate numbers cannot be achieved, it may be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer the nearest possible alternative date (or a full refund of monies paid for APT ground content touring). The date on which the decision is made whether a tour will operate is usually four to eight weeks before the scheduled departure date.
Dine Around Dinners - APT reserves the right to change restaurants should circumstances warrant.

Smoking
Government regulations forbid smoking in tourist coaches, however frequent stops are made for those wishing to smoke. Smoking is not permitted in twin share 'matched' rooms. Requests for smoking/non smoking rooms will be passed on to hotels but cannot be guaranteed.

Seat Allocation on Coach Tours
To ensure all passengers enjoy forward and window facing seats, we have incorporated a daily seat rotation system.

Money Back Guarantee
If a problem occurs during your tour, then in your own best interests, you should advise your Tour Director so that steps can be taken to resolve the matter there and then. If you remain dissatisfied, any complaint must be made in writing to us within 30 days. Any service not supplied will be refunded in full.

Transfer Policy
On the first and final day of your tour we'll provide a free airport transfer. When you book pre-tour accommodation with us in the city the tour departs from, we'll provide a transfer from the airport on the day you arrive, and a hotel transfer on the first day of your tour, at further cost.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend passengers to take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances which may arise (including cancellation fees, medical and curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness etc.). Ask your Travel Agent for details at the time of booking.
