![]() Day 1. Mon: Brisbane to Port MacquarieDeparting from Roma Street, Brisbane City, we travel south through the picturesque Tweed Valley. After morning tea at Plantation House we continue down the coast to the Scottish Town of Maclean for lunch, before making our way through Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie. Overnight Rydges Hotel, Port Macquarie. (MTLD) Day 2. Tue: Blue MountainsThis morning we leave beautiful Port Macquarie. After stopping at Karuah for morning tea and a leg stretch we continue on the Newcastle freeway, arriving at Gosford for lunch. Travelling through Sydney’s western suburbs we head up into the Blue Mountains for our two night stay at the Hotel Carrington, Katoomba. (BMTLD) Day 3. Wed: Everglades, Leura, KatoombaAfter breakfast we visit the spectacular Echo Point look-out before taking a ride on the Scenic Railway descending into the Jamison Valley, then a short bush walk before returning to the top via the Skyway. Enjoy lunch at Everglades, one of Australia’s foremost heritage gardens with breathtaking views over Jamison Valley. This afternoon we take a drive along cliff tops around Leura and Katoomba, then enjoy afternoon tea and a tour of the majestic Hotel Carrington. (BLD) Day 4. Thu: Cowra, CanberraLeaving Katoomba this morning we travel towards Bathurst and on to Cowra for lunch and a visit to the renowned Japanese Gardens. Before we continue south, we take a drive down Sakura Avenue, which features 5 kms of flowering cherry trees, then have a short break in Yass before travelling on to Canberra for a three night stay at the Country Comfort Greenway. (BLD) Day 5. Fri: Canberra FloriadeThis morning we visit Floriade, the biggest flower festival in Australia, set in Canberra’s Commonwealth Park. Lunch at the Deck restaurant, with views over Regatta Point, is followed by an afternoon visit to the National Capital Exhibition and the War Memorial. We tour through the Hall of Memory, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier , Pool of Reflection and the Roll of Honour, then attend a moving closing ceremony. Day 6. Sat: CanberraThis morning we take a driving tour around the many International Embassies before visiting Parliament House. This afternoon, following lunch, we cruise on Lake Burley Griffin, passing close to Aspen Island so you will hear the bells of the Carillon operating either during a recital or playing the Westminster Chimes. (BLD) Day 7. Sun: Goulburn, Bowral, CraigieburnDeparting Canberra we visit Cockington Green Gardens, containing a fascinating collection of miniature buildings from all parts of Great Britain. We then travel to Goulburn, lunching at the Goulburn Brewery, with the option to sample their boutique beers. We then continue on to Bowral, visiting Corbett Gardens and the Bradman Museum, arriving at Craigieburn Resort for an overnight stay. (BLD) Day 8. Mon: Gosford, PokolbinTravelling north we have lunch in Gosford before heading to Pokolbin in the Lower Hunter Region. We view the ‘Hunter Valley Gardens’ in style, on a guided Train Tour with commentary, before making our way to our overnight accommodation at Harrigans. (BLD) Day 9. Tue: Muswellbrook, Scone, Tamworth, ArmidaleAfter breakfast we travel through the Hunter coal region and then to the rich horse breeding district of Muswellbrook and Scone. After a short break at Willow Creek it’s on to Tamworth for lunch. There will be an opportunity to browse or purchase some country music memorabilia at ‘The Big Guitar’ before we head up the Moombi Range to Armidale. Overnight at the Quality Hotel Powerhouse. (BLD) Day 10. Wed: Tenterfield, Stanthorpe, Warwick, BrisbaneToday we travel through Guyra, Glenn Innes and on to Tenterfield. We cross the border at Wallangarra and into Queensland, past the grape growing district of Ballandean, and the stone fruit and apple growing areas of Stanthorpe and The Summit. We arrive at Warwick for lunch at the ‘Abbey of the Roses’ once a Catholic Convent, then depart via the Cunningham Ranges returning to Roma Street, Brisbane. (BMTL) Prices and Dates
